2016 - The Year of the Dodo!
It’s been a busy time at Dodo HQ recently, as we gear up towards our 2016 launch. The three books which you kindly supported are going through the final stages of editing, and we are currently working with designers to create some really memorable cover art for them. We’ve hired a typographer to add lettering to the haunting The Eleventh Letter cover. We’ve also worked with the artist Carolina Rodriguez Fuenmayor to develop a draft image for Wood Green.
There are lots of other details to think about as we prepare for our first releases, such as choosing a uniquely Dodo Ink font for our books. As well as working on the nitty gritty details of our debut releases, we are also looking forward to 2017 – we have recently announced deals for novels by Costa Prize nominated author Monique Roffey and James Miller, whose novels Lost Boys and Sunshine States were big hits at Dodo Towers. We’re delighted to be working with such established and well-respected writers, and the enthusiasm and support which you have all shown towards the project has really helped us to convince authors to sign up with us.
We’ll be contacting you all individually in the coming weeks to ask which books you would like as rewards, and also how you would like your name to appear in the Dodo Hall of Fame at the back of each title. We’ll update again soon with some links to our revamped website, where we’ll be featuring final covers for our 2016 list and more info on our 2017 acquisitions.
With love from The Dodo Team xxx
