Two weeks to go!
Greetings from Dodo Towers!
There are now just two weeks and a few hours remaining on The Grand Dodo Ink Kickstarter, with over £6,000 of our £8,000 goal raised so far. The Dodo has strapped rockets to his wings in preparation for the final stretch, and plans to jet between Manchester and Soho in search of lonely literary types to convert to our cause. So far he's done little other than attract some unwanted attention from the RSPB.
We'd like to say another big thank you for your generosity in making a pledge and helping us to get this far. In addition, if you have any spare mins, we'd be very grateful if you might consider sharing our Kickstarter project on social media, or sending to any bookish sorts you think might like the cut of the Dodo's jib. We've found social media to be a fantastic resource for our campaign, and that when people hear about our publishing plans / read extracts of the books we plan to publish, they are often happy to dip into their wallets and support our cause.
We've been a little Kickstarter-crazy the past few weeks, but have found the time to make enquiries about some amazing new books we'd like to publish in 2017 and beyond, while Sam is deep into edits of our author Serpahina Madsen's wild psychedelic road trip of a novel, Dodge and Burn. We've also just today received an endorsement of Tom Tomaszewski's, The Eleventh Letter, from the acclaimed writer of Boy A, Cham and Genus, Jonathan Trigell. Jonathan says:
"A ghost story about story as much as about ghosts, Tomaszewski brilliantly shows how memories are the real spectres of this world and we each of us are haunted."
We've put up a new, extended extract of The Eleventh Letter, which you can read on our website. We can't wait to share The Eleventh Letter, Dodge and Burn and Sean Rabin's Wood Green with you next year, and thanks to your support, we're not too far away from making this dream a reality.
Sam, Thom, Alex and the Dodo
