Finding herself locked in a public restroom stall, a trap set by an
axe swinging maniac, rock-and-roll party-girl Tawny has to push her wits
to their ends and figure out a way to escape before her friends and the
man she loves step into danger looking for her.
This film is a
project about tenacity, not just with Tawny and her escape from danger,
but with myself and how I have spent the last seven months getting to
this point. Now, after success talking to local angel investors, I only
have to secure the last portion of the budget, my obligation to the
film. Film is still fertile ground in my city. I can't explain how
exciting it is to be part of a wave that's making narrative film a
I'm putting my faith in you as well as all of Kickstarter. I've managed to carry the project this far, but it has been such an uphill journey that I can't carry it alone anymore. I'm letting go and giving you a chance to be part of the story. I can only think that there's someone up there who is watching my back as, in a city where the idea of narrative feature films were never taken seriously, I've found myself in meetings with some very wealthy people (which I am anything but) and in contact with at least one well known internet founder. It's mind blowing! So let's come together now and finish this.
I've added a couple more incentives to help sweeten the deal. First off, if you give the minimum amount ($10) you will now also receive a zombiefied pic of your choice. Maybe it's a family photo or maybe it's your facebook profile pic. In any case, you send it and I'll email back the zombie version.
Plus! Axe Murders has a sister film that was shot first titled CAN. You will receive a digital download of CAN's full 3:20 theme. A shortened version can be heard below.
All this goes along with the special thanks in email as well as the credit in the film and the ebook that chronicles how I got to this point.
New $15 dollar exclusive, limited to 15 people! You'll get everything in the $10 reward level PLUS a bound and covered noir detective short story. This bad boy has a mind-altering trippy edge to it and is typed out on this!
Vintage! Typos, formatting errors, and the stink of the ink. It's the only way a noir detective story should be read.
At $25 I'm adding in a copy of CAN (Axe's sister film) along with the copy of Axe Murders on 9. CAN is a dark humored horror flick, a scene of which can be seen below. Warning: Crude Humor Awaits!
$40 level is where you will also get a printed and framed version of your zombified picture! Hang it above your mantel for the whole family to enjoy or take it to work for clients to see on your desk! I'm also now including a DVD copy of CAN as well as two of its posters.
At the $100 level you get the CUSTOM DVD with EXTRAS and EASTER EGGS MADE WITH YOU IN MIND, T-SHIRT, POSTER, and SPECIAL THANKS in EMAIL and CREDITS and EBOOK AND NOW a hand painted portrait of your choosing. Find a picture (family photo, lost love one, your favorite celeb or hero, or even your zombie pic if you like) and you'll get back a painted version on canvas. As you can see, I'm not unskilled in this area. And yes, if you already backed the level then I will include it, I just can't add anything once someone has back at that level.
This is also how the art-case at the $200 dollar level will be painted. Here's an example of one I did for Iron Man.
And if you have a website, a facebook page, a business, a product, or you have a special message for someone that you want in the film, or you just want to world to know how awesome you are check out the $1000 level and get it into the film. That's in the film, FOREVER!

Risks and challenges
The majority films fail because they just don't make it past the finish line. I didn't truly understand this until I started making films. Keeping people on task, people who for the most part aren't getting paid, is like herding cats. That's why I've had to diversify my skill set, in order to pick up the slack when needed. But there is a level of professional quality that I'm looking to maintain this time. Quality actors, quality crew, and a quality outcome are the order of the day. Success now will make all this so much easier.
Clicking the submit button has been super difficult for me. This is the one stage of this process where I've had to surrender a lot of my control. If this fails it will be hard putting up a face for the investors I've networked with. I can't say that going from nothing to just barely grabbing the brass ring will feel that great either. It's in your hands now.
