The goal of this Kickstarter campaign is to raise money to print and sell my book privately.
*If goal is reached, all additional funds will go right back into printing and selling more books.*
From the back cover of the book:
"I had a real taste of what it is like to be a patient. My experiences as a student of healthcare, working in long-term care homes, taking care of a couple of loved ones who were sick and volunteering for a hospice all gave me insight. But I had always been as healthy as healthy can be; I was not on any maintenance medications and never took painkillers for even a headache, which I seldom if ever got. I had no disorders, diseases, infections, allergies, or even sensitivities. As a result of living the city life, I walked virtually everywhere I went. Then, in the blink of an eye, I was lying in a hospital bed with a few hours until surgeons would remove a brain tumor. The tables have turned; I was now the patient for the first time."
This book was originally meant for my eyes only, as it was merely a therapeutic release. However, after organizing my thoughts into chapters, I decided to turn the writings into a book. I invite you to try on my shoes while you read my story. I'm sure you will see the role of being a patient, or me personally, very differently after reading the book.

Risks and challenges
Although very apprehensive about sharing such a personal story, I feel as though with sharing knowledge comes power, so telling my story hushes the whispers and gives power of my story back to me, where it belongs. Being unable to work yet, this opportunity gives me the kickstart I need to get my book published independently! Without your support, it won't be possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
