The Five Hour Gallery is a project that not only hopes to give a wide variety of artists the opportunity to display their work to the public, but also it aspires to bring art to people who may not ordinarily seek it out.
The Gallery will be a professional venue installed in unorthodox places. Anyone can submit their work along with a short bio and artist statement, and once accepted they will have a show for 5 hours in a location and date to be determined with their intents and specific work in mind. The show will be announced a week in advance on a website that will also act as an archive of any artists and works that have been displayed so far.
Your support will assist in the funding of the materials of the gallery space itself, which includes but is not limited to: reimbursement for the steel structure and plexiglass, funding for the lighting fixtures, and the internal wood structure which will create the bottom and top of the display case.
The Gallery will also have several interchangeable setups for the diverse types of pieces, such as interior walls to display 2D work, a structure so work can be hung within the space, and angled bottom shelves so books can be displayed.
Anything you can give is appreciated, and if you can't donate financially you can still help. Maybe you know (or are) an artist whose work could exist well in this environment. Maybe you know a particular neighborhood that the gallery could be featured in. Information and verbal support is welcomed.

Special thanks to all of the MCAD shop faculty for helping me.
Risks and challenges
With the help of my instructors, peers, and the 3D shop staff, I will be able to tackle any number of unknown challenges that may come up in the manufacturing process. That said, I am confident in my ability to construct the gallery, given previous large scale projects I've successfully finished on schedule and on budget.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
