About this project
The 2 key components for a baby’s growth and development are sleep and nutrition, which during infancy create the foundation for a healthy life.
One of every four babies suffer from eating difficulties that require mandatory nutrition monitoring.
Sleevely can reduce parents anxiety and offer them a peace of mind: you can easily, accurately and remotely monitor your baby’s feedings.
Sleevely is the first ever automatic solution for tracking feeding habits of your baby anytime, anywhere.
Sleevely also alerts you when the prepared formula reaches its expiration time, allowing you to reduce waste and save money.
- Sleevely employs Bluetooth Smart that safely and accurately transmits your data to your mobile device.
- Sleevely is lightweight so your baby won't even know it’s there.
- Sleevely uses a standard battery so you never have to worry about charging it.
- Sleevely is dishwasher safe.
We made sure we have a solution for the leading brands and sizes for this project. We are always working to make Sleevely compatible with additional brands and will continue to grow its compatibility. Here are the compatible bottles:
Sleevely is 100% safe for both parents and babies. We made sure Sleevely will comply with all rules and regulations ensuring that all components are safe and hazard-free. Sleevely uses Bluetooth Smart (also known as Bluetooth Low Energy) which operates on low transmission power only when the bottle is idle.
The Technical Part
How does Sleevely actually work? Sleevely's patent-pending technology integrates smart sensors into its flexible arms. By measuring the volume between the two arms located opposite each other, Sleevely knows the exact amount of formula or breast milk in the bottle at any given time. Combined with a temperature sensor, both readings are relayed via Bluetooth Smart to your mobile device.
Over the past year, we've come a very long way in the development of Sleevely. Our Prototype is alive and kicking and we are in a great position to move things forward towards production, and put Sleevely in the hands of many parents.
With your help, we will:
- Convert our prototype into production-ready models with the right tooling.
- Land all the necessary approvals so we can ship our product worldwide.
- Produce and ship sleevely to as many parents as possible.
- Complete the development of our Mobile Apps.
Risks and challenges
Our first challenge was to create a product that is 100% safe for both parents and infants. We have made sure that all components, design and other materials would not present any risk whatsoever.
Our second, ongoing challenge is to create a universal solution that will fit most bottles in the market. We have been working very hard on this with our Industrial Design partners and are very close to finding an affordable solution and we need your help to get us there!
We have spent countless hours preparing for this day with one goal in mind - to show you, our backers, that our product is innovative and that we can build and deliver it to your satisfaction.
Lastly, as with any new and innovative product that doesn’t yet exist in the market, there’s a risk of potential delays in production and shipping, but we'll do our very best to stay on schedule, and are committed to 100% transparency with our backers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Absolutely. Sleevely does not transmit near the baby while the bottle is in use. Sleevely uses Bluetooth Smart (also known as Bluetooth Low Energy) which operates on very low transmission power only when the bottle is idle.
Yes. If you are pumping you can use Sleevely just as you would with formula.
Yes. For example, if you are at work and your baby is with the babysitter, you will be able to see real time data about your baby’s hydration and nutrition. Just make sure that both you and the babysitter have the Sleevely mobile app installed.
Sleevely continuously records information, but transmits the data to your phone only when the bottle is idle and you or someone with the app is within range.
No. Sleevely operates on a simple, replaceable coin battery (CR2032) so you can take it with you anywhere without having to worry about chargers.
