About this project
It’s been ages since I put any music out. Ages since I really wanted to.
I feel like I spent all these years bumbling around, trying to follow music but not really having the confidence or life experience to know how. I fell in and out of seasons, wrestling with the psychology of it all.
These last couple of years have been about letting it all go. Romance, faith, work, friends, music, identity. I stopped agonising over my fate and just let it lie.
A few months ago I left my management because, after six years, it felt right to stand alone. Immediately, something inside me woke up and songs started coming again. So I left my day job too, to give these songs the space and energy they were asking for.
And suddenly, here we are, ready to record. I’ve got my trusted producer Nic Manders and his studio locked in for October. We’ve set the budget for ten days in the studio, and the mixing and mastering of eight songs.
It has taken a while for me to find my peace with such a public leap of faith. When I think about it, it's crazy. This album won't happen without you.
I've loved coming up with special rewards to make this campaign more than just a pre-order. One-off polaroids from the studio, locally made notebooks with handwritten lyrics, and pieces of art created by good people I'd love you to know (more information about them in posts to come). And with the album itself, three options: digital download, CD, or vinyl.
All going to plan, you'll have this new collection of songs in your hot little ears by the end of summer, and the first single much sooner...
So welcome to this moment in time, this line in the sand. Shall we?
(any session musicians or additional studio days would bump this figure up.)
Additional costs will be -
I will cover the additional costs. Any funds received beyond the 10k goal will assist greatly in this.

Risks and challenges
Creative projects are wild animals, living and breathing things. These songs might ask for special attention in ways that we don't know about yet, like maybe one of them will want something funky like a saw player or some yodelling, in which case we would need to hire external talent, pushing up the budget.
Nic has produced recordings of mine multiple times before. I know he keeps extremely high standards, whatever the budget.
The exact date of the album's release will be confirmed over time. At the moment I am gunning for late February or March. I will be keeping in close contact with all my backers with any changes in schedule. I don't foresee anything holding it back much longer than that.
I have all my merchandise costs (CDs, vinyl, art prints, notebooks, polaroids) accounted for and production avenues lined up.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
