About this project
JUST ANNOUNCED: SK8 KAMP will located at SK8:30 AKA Esplanade at 8:30. With this prime placement, Black Rock City's skatepark will be accessible and enjoyed by all burners, so we have to make it even more awesome!
We are bringing SK8 KAMP back to the Playa this year, bigger and better! People couldn't get enough skating and spectating last year, so we're motivated to make everyone even more stoked in 2012 by adding new features like bowled corners on the mini ramp, a mini MEGA ramp, a street area, and the Gap of DOOM!
Other improvements include shade for the whole park by day and lighting to shred by night. That's right, folks, SK8 KAMP will be open 24/7!
We expect the materials to be approximately $3000 and transportation to be about $2000. So far we have raised $2500 and our goal is to raise $2500 more so that we can manifest our vision.
And, as if giving skaters a playground on the playa isn't enough of an awesome deed, these ramps will find a permanent home at West Oakland's Town Park community skatepark after the burn.
Please give so that we can give back, support our local community and foster the friendships we have built through our proud partnership with Town Park, a truly worthy initiative headed by Keith K-Dubs Williams.
