Who we are and why we started ART:I:CURATE
We are a start-up, aka 2 girls - Nur & Irina, on the quest to changing the world, or at least the art world, by building a contemporary art platform that connects you with emerging artists and curators worldwide and lets you decide what contemporary art is.
We’re doing this online – through our website articurate.net, and offline through awesome art events and exhibitions.
You are asking yourself: why do these girls want to change the art world and how are they planning to do that?
The art world is of a very exclusive nature: a few top galleries, auction houses, museums and institutions decide on what contemporary art is and what we - the people - are supposed to like and see at exhibitions and accept as THE art of our era.
Why let them exclusively decide what art you’re supposed to see and like when you could – well, now you actually can - decide yourself and be part of the process of defining what contemporary art is?
There's too much talent in the world to be ignored. Through ART:I:CURATE we want to include you and help emerging artists exhibit internationally.
How does ART:I:CURATE work?
Together with experts from cultural industries, we research and select the most promising emerging artists and feature them on our website – articurate.net.
Here you can discover, like, share and decide which artists will be exhibited offline. We then organize exhibitions based on what you and your friends like and want to see in person.
ART:I:CURATE events and exhibitions
Our events are diverse, stimulating and a lot of fun. You’ll find fashion designers chatting to bankers, actors to lawyers, psychiatrists to writers, academics to entrepreneurs, and artists to clerks. (For all of you who feel excluded: we’re just trying to portray the diversity of our community and events and want you to be part of it, too!)
In what cities are exhibitions organized?
We are working hard (this might be the reason we're single?) to build an international network of partners, ambassadors, and contributors. Our goal is to organize art events and exhibitions in cities all over the world!
Please drop us a line, facebook or tweet us, if you want to get involved and be part of the ART:I:CURATE network!
What do we need the money for?
Here is the deal: we set out 9 months ago with the vision to change the rules of the art world by supporting emerging artists and curators around the world and organizing art events and exhibitions based on the art you love.
We have come a long way and with limited, humble means managed to build the beta version of our platform, contacted and excited artists and curators around the world and organized our first large scale exhibition in London with over 200 guests from various industries.
We have put all our passion, energy, love, and savings towards following our vision. We now need your help to continue pursuing this vision. In order to organize our next exhibitions in London and New York, we will need a kick-start support from you.
The money raised will cover all organizational costs such as location rent, production, shipping, installation, insurance, interns etc.
The more we manage to raise the more impact our exhibitions will make.

Let’s get started!
Risks and challenges
We've spent almost a year working together with advisors, friends, family and others to mitigate as many risks as possible, and know there can be many hurdles and challenges along the way.
We'll always share updates and news with our community about challenges including:
Exhibition dates. Part of our core vision is to create very special and memorable events. In this case, we are planning 2 - one in London and one in New York. Depending on location availability (great locations are often hard to get!), as well as best dates for our community to attend (we wouldn't want anyone to miss out) exact dates are still to be confirmed. We've got supporters and teams on spot in both cities, who are "ready to roll"! So our main challenge is the availability of funds for these 2 events - here is where we hope to get your support.
Exhibition scale and organization. Organizing great events and exhibitions, especially of a larger scale, can be very challenging as every single detail needs to be planned and accounted for. This is why, for the past year we've been intensely involved in several events and exhibitions and teamed up with partners in New York, London, and Vienna.
We've learned a great deal from co-ordinating and managing events including dealing with all sorts of last minute emergencies.
