Air Flix is a fast paced, Second World War, dexterity based dog fighting game for 2 or more players. In an all-action battle of strategy & skill, you will need to outwit and out-flick your opponents to achieve total aerial dominance!
Slick, intuitive game play, multiple game modes & variants combined with components of the highest possible standard, make this the perfect action dog fighting game for both hardened wargamers & casual players alike.
The Kickstarter collectors edition of Air Flix comes bristling with ultra high quality components, including a massive 3'x3' neoprene play mat, laser etched acrylic discs, highly detailed plane miniatures, thick, plastic coated card stock and custom combat dice.
Supremacy Mode - Duke it out at 30,000 feet in classic "fighter versus fighter" dogfight action. The rules are simple, just shoot down the opposition! The last team standing wins the game.
Players take it in turns to move their planes around the mat by flicking, ensuring that they only touch the rear of the base within the plane's contact arc. Planes may be rotated within their turning arc, either before the flick, for greater maneuverability, or after, for greater accuracy.
Planes may not finish their move touching any of the hexes they are in contact with prior to being flicked, ensuring a minimum movement distance. Players may also ask their opponent to "lift" a plane so that they may fly under them.
Once all planes have been moved, shooting is resolved simultaneously. Every plane that has a target within it's firing arc is eligible to shoot. Roll the number of attack dice shown on the pilot card, adding any additional bonus dice gained for short range or rear attacks, with any hit results being subtracted from the target plane's damage points.
After all shooting has been resolved, any planes with no damage points remaining are removed from play. If at any point only one player has planes on the map they win the game!
Blitz Mode - An asymmetric mode in which one team is trying to bomb key targets on the map, while the other team is doing everything they can to stop them. This mode is played using both fighters and bombers, with only the bombers able to hit the targets.
To hit a bomb site, a Heinkel bomber must be flicked so that its base is at least partially covering one of the bomb site symbols on the map. The Axis forces win the game by hitting a predetermined number of bomb sites, if the bombers are shot down before achieving this, the allies win the day!
Relive the epic tank battle at El Alamein with Annihilation Mode. Both sides use a combination of fighters and bombers to obliterate the opposing player's tanks!
The El Alamein battle pack contains:
- The El Alamein 3’ x 3’ battle mat,
- 3 Hawker Hurricanes
- 3 Junkers Ju 87 (Stukas)
- 6 pilot cards
- Bombing map & scenario rules for Annihilation Mode.
Be part of one of the pivotal moments of modern military history with Evacuation Mode. Allied forces are desperately trying to get home, with Spitfire squadrons providing cover overhead but quickly running out of fuel, how many lives can they save?
The Dunkirk battle pack contains:
- The Dunkirk 3’ x 3’ battle mat
- 1 battle damaged Heinkel he 111
- 1 fuel tracker board
- Bombing map & scenario rules for Evacuation Mode.
Ace Pilots are optional pilot cards that put wartime aces at the controls of your fighters. Aces each have a deadly special ability bringing a multitude of new tactical options to your table top dogfights.
Hunter Mode is a supremacy variant in which each side it vying to shoot down the opposing teams ace. Do you play it safe and protect your ace, or throw them into the action to make the most of their skills?
Barrage Mode is a blitz variant in which the defending player may strategically place 2 large barrage balloons to protect their bomb sites.
Air Flix will be available in 4 different languages: English, French, Spanish and German. We will confirm your choice via the Pledge Manager.
Shipping will be charged after the campaign finishes and will be subsidised for all areas. For UK backers shipping will be charged at £5, EU and USA backers will be charged at £10 and the rest of the world will be £20 (sorry guys).
We will begin shipping pledges as soon as our copies arrive and we expect to have dispatched all pledges within a month of them arriving. Obviously our time scales are subject to change but we believe we have padded our estimates enough to account for this.
Our products will ship from within the EU so as it stands there will be no import taxes etc for our EU backers. Any and all updates on shipping and production will be posted here as a Project Update for everyone to see.
Risks and challenges
So this is not our first project, we successfully funded and fulfilled Z War One Damnation 2 years ago & since then we have been building solid working relationships with professional, trustworthy suppliers. Over the last couple of years we have also built a solid reputation in manufacturing and prototyping, working alongside many other UK companies on their respective projects.
As with all Kickstarters there is the chance that we may encounter an unforeseen problem, however we feel we have padded our delivery estimates to sufficiently counter this and hope to ship well before the estimated ship date. As we have mentioned in the “Shipping” section any and all updates regarding both production and delivery will be posted as a Backer Update here and be 100% transparent. We’re committed to keeping you all in the loop.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
