Hey folks, the time is right and I'm ready to try again!
A couple years ago, in the spring of '16, I started a campaign to raise funding to record a CD and although I received many generous pledges, I did not reach my goal. So after a couple years of re-thinking, songwriting, and good old fashioned soul-searching, I'm back and better than before!
My plan is essentially the same as before--go into a studio, record some songs, then make a CD--but the details are a bit different; As opposed to going to Los Angeles to record the basic tracks of bass and drums, this time around I'm recording the whole project in my home town of Bloomington Indiana with Paul Mahern at the helm of producer. If you're not familiar with Paul, he's worked with the likes of John Mellencamp, T-Bone Burnett, Lily and Madeleine, Zero Boys and so many others. What an honor to have him provide his knowledge and skills on this project!
The musicians I'll have helping me on this are top-notch pros who's quality of musicianship are unmatched! On bass will be Rob Calder. Rob, originally from Bloomington, Indiana and currently in LA, has played on many studio sessions and toured all over the globe with artists such as Passenger, Angus and Julia Stone, Ari Hest, Declan O'Rourke and Kelsey Bramson to name just a few! On drums and percussion will be my long-time friend Gonzalo Dies. Gonzo' and I have played together since high school on and off for 30 years in bands such as Medicine Wheel and Chris Shaffer (of The Why Store) among others, and I am thrilled to have him on this project! Heather Craig, also a longtime Bloomington musician who's resume includes The Mary Janes and Austin Stirling, will be adding her amazing talents on violin, and once this project gets going, who knows, there will possibly be more folks to add their musical expertise!
My funding goal is $4,000. This will help to cover cost of studio rental, mixing and mastering these recorded songs, paying all musicians involved, shipping costs and Kickstarter fees. I will personally cover all other costs.

Risks and challenges
Every project can have a few bumps in the road, challenges that are difficult if not impossible to see beforehand. Schedules can change, there can be time delays, unforeseen family emergencies, etc... I certainly hope this album goes as smooth as possible--and I fully expect it to--but you never know, really. All I can do is rely on my experience in being involved with other album projects and my years of being a professional musician to overcome any obstacles. So I hereby promise to you that I will be transparent in sharing any and all issues that may arise and I will always be available for any questions you may have.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
