About this project
Reaper’s CAV: Strike Operations (C: SO), in partnership with Talon Games, is a project to ramp up the production of the CAV miniatures line in high-quality plastic and get you the game models you want now at an incredible introductory price as we ramp up for the release with an all-new game edition.

Check out our Rules!
We've also got the Rules HERE. This a preview of the working copy of the final rules and while the rules are done mechanics wise, there's still some layout and editing to finish. The preview does not include fluff, the construction rules, faction doctrines, and any artwork beyond examples, and does not include every possible model.

Why are we doing this?
Thanks to you, our last two Kickstarters were an amazing success as we added to our Bones line of plastic fantasy figures. We want to bring this same success over to the CAV range of figures where their larger size will benefit even more from the cost savings associated with producing a figure in plastic. The CAV: SO Kickstarter is focusing on getting these larger models switched over faster as well as the introduction of several new figures for you to use.
Plastic models require more expensive molds to produce and we need your help to expand the C: SO line. Your support makes the molds that we need to produce the figures and, in exchange, you get first shot at these figures for a fantastic deal!
What are Bones Gaming Miniatures?
For those of you that haven’t heard (cue glorious background music), Bones are only the best high-quality plastic gaming models to hit the industry...ever (end music)! The CAV: SO line of figures will use the same plastic as our fantasy figures but be cast in a medium gray color instead of white (with the exception of our Early-Bird Core Force Pledge Level). The CAV figures will also include a black plastic hex base for each figure as well.
Where is the Rule Book?
CAV: Strike Operations centers around an all-new edition of the game. Download a free PDF copy of the base rules and see the changes we have made as part of the update. We have already committed to producing this game without asking for your assistance and will be releasing a full-color, hard-back rule set for retail sale.
What about Other Resources?
We have a Model reference PDF with damage tracks, factions, and which type of squad they belong to!
And a Fan-Created Model List for Excel!
There's excellent Rules, Force Composition, and Model discussion at the Reaper Message Boards!
What’s in it for me?
With any project we learn as we go along and since fulfilling our first Bones Kickstarter project, the number of pledge levels has decreased. We think most people want to be able to choose which CAVs they want and we have focused on getting the Pledge Levels set up to allow you the ability to pick the models you want with freebies added as we go to make the value of your pledge grow.
All we need is your support
Risks and challenges
What are the risks and challenges that come with completing your project, and how are you qualified to overcome them?
For a project like ours, the risks and challenges fall into three categories:
1) Overall Non-completion
2) Delays in meeting our estimated delivery dates
3) We do not produce a specific model or change one.
Concerning the risk of Overall Non-completion:
We've already completed two massive Kickstarters and are fully aware of the pitfalls that go along with a project of this size. Two things that could cause the non-completion of a Kickstarter are either the loss of our inbound shipments (due to an act of God, pirates or war) or a massive disaster (fire, flood) that levels our facility. Either of these events might be disastrous but as a company that has been in business for twenty years, we carry full insurance on our facility and insure every shipment, no matter the size, against loss and damage.
Obviously either of the above tragic events would create delays in meeting our estimated delivery dates, and that brings us to the second category: Delays. We learned a lot during our first two Kickstarters. However, delays are simply part of the cycle of business and it is our wisdom, training, and experience that would help us mitigate and work through any delay. Some delays are easy to solve, such as replacing a printer that is creating barcodes that a particular USPS hub is having a problem reading. Other delays are out of our hands, such as the 2012 longshoreman strike that delayed two of our overseas containers. We have even intentionally created delays when we chose to change models already in production to make them better.
Lastly there is the risk we will not produce a specific model shown. This will only occur if there is not enough interest in the model measured by the number of backers that actually pledge for a buy in level model. This event did not occur in our previous Kickstarters but is still a risk. In the event this situation develops we will issue a refund or credit depending on your desire for the buy in pledge amount for the model. Also we reserve the right to modify pieces shown to meet production requirements.
In summary we have the knowledge, wisdom and know how to prevent, solve, and work through just about any problem that we will face and will do everything possible to make this an exciting and enjoyable event for everyone involved.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
