About this project
The Pledge Calculator is now live! Click the image below to get started.
A showcase of some of the more amazing models from this Kickstarter.
Why are we doing this?
Thanks to you, our last Kickstarter was an amazing success! We’ve added over 200 new models to the Bones range, and we’ve discovered that these products are monstrously popular. You wanted more! More monsters! More Demons! More Dragons! More characters! More variety and more amazing new models!
You're in luck! We haven’t even scratched the surface. We have many more models that we think deserve to be added to Bones - new sculpts and classic favorites from our metal lines! We’d like to see if you think so, too!
Bones are still really expensive to produce, and we still need your help to expand the line. Your support makes the molds that we need to produce the figures, and in exchange you get the first crack at these figures for a fantastic deal!
What's in it for me?
We’ve learned a lot since we fulfilled our first Bones Kickstarter project, so you won’t find as many pledge levels. Turns out that most of you just wanted the core set with the potential to expand over time. What this Kickstarter will do is add 30 more models: character models, new sculpts, and monsters. After we hit our goal, we have plans to make the value of your pledge grow.
All we need is your support.
What Are Bones Gaming Miniatures?
What?! You're a gamer, right? Are you still living under a rock? Bones are only the best high-quality plastic gaming models to hit the industry in the last decade.
Risks and challenges
What are the risks and challenges that come with completing your project, and how are you qualified to overcome them?
For a project like ours, the risks and challenges fall into three categories:
1) Overall Non-completion
2) Delays in meeting our estimated delivery dates
3) We do not produce a specific model or change one.
Concerning the risk of Overall Non-completion: we've already completed one massive Kickstarter and are fully aware of the pitfalls. Two things that could cause the non-completion of a Kickstarter are either the loss of our inbound shipments (due to an act of God, pirates or war), or a massive disaster (fire, flood) that levels our facility. Either of those events might be disastrous, however we carry full insurance on our facility and insure every shipment, no matter the size, against loss and damage.
Obviously either of the above tragic events would create delays in meeting our estimated delivery dates, and that brings us to the second category: delays. We learned a lot during our first Kickstarter. However, delays are simply part of the cycle of business and it is our wisdom, training, and experience that would help us mitigate and work through any delay. Some delays are easy to solve, such as replacing a printer that is creating barcodes that a particular USPS hub is having a problem reading. Other delays are out of our hands, such as the 2012 longshoreman strike that delayed two of our overseas containers. We have even intentionally created delays when we chose to change models already in production to make them better.
Lastly there is the risk we will not produce a specific model shown. This will only occur if there is not enough interest in the model measured by the number of backers that actually pledge for a buy in level model. This event did not occur in our previous Kickstarter but is nonetheless still a risk. In the event this situation develops we will issue a refund or credit depending on your desire for the buy in pledge amount for the model. Also we reserve the right to modify pieces shown to meet production requirements.
In summary we have the knowledge, wisdom and know how to prevent, solve, and work through just about any problem that we will face and will do everything possible to make this an exciting and enjoyable event.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
During our last Kickstarter we unveiled our plan to begin production of Bones in the US. Currently we have our first machine and molds with more molds on the way. We’re learning the fundamentals of injection plastic production. While we are off to a good start, we’re not up to speed yet. We still lack both the expertise and the number of machines it would take to fulfill this project.
To put this into perspective, with only one machine it would take approximately 650 days (running 24 hours a day) to produce our last Kickstarter. That is almost two years! This is further compounded by the fact that our machine is not large enough to produce large models like Kaladrax.
Production in the USA is a high priority goal!
We can’t mark a parcel coming from a business to a consumer as a gift or promotional materials with no value, so we must declare a value.
The value we will declare is the total amount of your pledge for product. The value we list on the import document WILL NOT INCLUDE shipping charges. As an example, if you order a Core Set for $100.00 plus a dragon for $15.00 and add $37.50 onto your pledge for shipping your total pledge would be $152.50. We would declare the value of your shipment as $115.00
You will be responsible for any and all customs, taxes, Vat, duties, and fees on your end. That is out of our control, and we will not mark any shipment in any way that is inconsistent with international law.
Please review your local laws, make sure your address is correct in our “Pledge Calculator” so we know where to ship your stuff. Oh, it also helps to always be nice to your local post people
How do I get an Invoice of my order to show customs that my order and declaration values are correct?
After the Kickstarter has ended and you have locked in your Pledge Calculator order, a button will appear that will allow you to print an invoice of your order. You will be able to access and reprint invoices as many time as needed by you.
You shipped Canada for free last time, why no love this time? We paid fee upon fee and even your 5% GST on top of the actual postage to get you your package for “free postage” last time. The cost was tremendous and is simply something we cannot do again.
Most single Bones miniatures are priced between $1.99 and $4.99.
Please use our Pledge Calculator determine your pledge total, including shipping:
When the project ends, you will return to the Pledge Calculator and "lock-in" you pledge.
During the project, the Calculator is simply a tool to help you calculate your pledge and (if applicable) Shipping rate. You can make as many changes as you like to the Pledge Calculator during the live project without locking your pledge.
For more information about the pledge calculator is updates 38 and 41 and more bullets in the FAQ below.
Options are additional product you can receive by increasing the amount of your pledge by the option amount shown.
To add the Option, click the "Manage Your Pledge" button and simply increase your pledge amount by the Option amount shown, or use our Pledge Calculator here:
Most of our existing miniatures lines are produced in metal, and many of the miniatures pictured here are drawn from those product lines. This Bones Kickstarter is designed to produce both existing and new miniatures in plastic. The models that are pictured in the Kickstarter are the models you will receive in Bones plastic.
That depends on which “Wave” you made your pledge in. In a nutshell, all “Early Bird Wave 1” pledges will ship before Wave 2 and all Wave 2 pledges before Wave 3.
We will be making an Update on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month until we have completed fulfillment. We will make this update, even if it is to report nothing has changed.
Sorry but we still have several outstanding and we did not want to add more to the pile at this time. Hard to imagine I know
We wondered that as well! In the last KS, when people actually told us what they wanted in the Pledge Manager, 327 of the 330 Ghast Level Pledges and ALL of the Mummy Level Pledges converted to the Vampire Level. So this time we thought we would save a few bits of the Internet from traveling around and did away with levels like those. Levels for hats and such were eliminated and those items were added to the Pledge Calculator up front as add-ons.
There is NOT a level in this KS for retail store participation.
When we begin fulfillment of this new KS we will create a retail store rack package based and discounted on the KS results. (Something similar to the Vampire set where the retail price is 567.00 and we retail it for 324.00) At that time we will solicit this rack deal through distribution for retail stores. No commitment by any retail store or distributor will be required to purchase a rack. It will be treated as a new release.
If you choose to actually pledge and back this new KS it will be as a consumer. Your items will ship bulk just, same as the consumers.
In other words these ARE NOT packaged for resale.
If you will click the link below it will take you to a nifty chart that will display a breakdown of how we spent the money. Please note there was money left over and that money was used for items not directly related to the KS like the new plastic injection machine, income taxes and infrastructure (shelves to store the remaining inventory and such).
Purple items are part of the Core Set Pledge and the Core Set grows as the Core Set stretch goal are met.
Orange items are buy-in, add-ons that you must add more to your pledge to get. More buy-in options are revealed as their stretch goal are met.
The other colors (tan so far) items are a $50 add-on that grows like the Core Set, but has it's own stretch goals independent of the Core Set and not included in the Core Set. Nor, will the Core Set have the Expansions' miniatures added to it.
Our Pledge Calculator is for all backers!
The ONLY information Kickstarter and Amazon provide to us about you is your:
1) Kickstarter User Name
2) Email Address
3) Pledge Level
4) Pledge Amount
To help you compute your Pledge Amount during our Kickstarter we have unveiled the Pledge Calculator.
Filling out our Pledge Calculator gives us both your mailing address and tells us how to apply your Pledge dollars. Please understand that even if all you select is a 2013 Core Set level and nothing else, we still need you to fill the Pledge Calculator so we have your information!
The data on our website is not linked in anyway to Kickstarter's or Amazon's data! We use the email address you provided in the Pledge Calculator to sync together with Kickstarter's or Amazon's data when the project ends. That's why it's important to use the same email address for our Pledge Calculator as you did for registering with Kickstarter.
You will have until midnight CST December 31st 2013 to be able to adjust your pledge up if you want to add something you missed.
After the conclusion of our Kickstarter on October 26th 2013, you will not be able to lower your pledge!
After October 26th 2013, once you "Lock-In" your pledge in our Pledge Calculator you will no longer be able to make adjustments.
Once you are "Locked-In" you will be able to return to our Pledge Calculator and update your address or email address and contact information.
