The Legend of Wahkan is a story I hope to share with the world soon. It has been a part of my life for thirteen years. It began as an interesting dream, one I couldn't let go of. I was only thirteen years old (January 17th, 2000) just a month shy of my fourteenth birthday. I was a kid who was in love with reading, writing, and the story lines in video games.
For a couple of days, I couldn't stop thinking about the story behind this unique dream that I had to write about it. It turned out to be quite an interesting tale that took me 2+ years to complete. As the years went on, I eventually graduated high school and continued to pick the book up and put it back down. I happened to run into many obstacles as I tried to figure out who I was going to be, something many have probably experienced at nineteen. But in 2009 I found my true place and settled down, continuing to think about the story as I often did over the years. In November 2011, two years after moving to Virginia, I picked the book back up and re-wrote it, officially completing it in June of this year. I am so pleased and excited about the story that I have spun from the original and I hope that everyone will feel the same. To become an author has always been a lifelong dream of mine. I hold this story very close to my heart. It's a long chapter in my life that is closed, and I am finally ready to get it out to bookshelves everywhere. Please visit my webpage listed in my bio to learn more about this book and become a fan of the facebook page to help spread the word to book lovers around the world. ^_^ Below is a short description.
The Legend of Wahkan (Blurb):
An ancient tale has resurfaced...
And its wicked curse has claimed the heart of a tranquil Virginia town, morphing it into a malicious new world hidden from the rest of society. The residents of Rockdale Valley were confused when waves of quakes hit their town and terrified when reports of missing people and animal attacks suddenly rise. For one former cop, it wasn't enough to pry her focus away from her own troubles. Living in the outskirts of town just behind the mountains that snugged it, she couldn't help but keep her focus on the torment she was having to endure each and every night, her chronic nightmares that began just after suffering amnesia from an accident that occurred in the forest of the mountains not too far from where she resided. It was a part of her past her father was aware of but refused to discuss. Determined to find answers, Alyssa makes a hasty decision to stop by her parents' residence which results in her fleeing to Rockdale Valley. Once confined in the shaken town, she has no choice but to face the nightmare that unfolds in front of her as she begins to piece them with her own restless dreams.
The Legend of Wahkan thrusts the protagonist into a surreal nightmare where she must fight her way through her now transformed hometown. With mysterious disappearances and supernatural obstacles challenging her every step of the way, this gripping survival horror novel merges the suspense of the supernatural with the grit and fortitude of a survival/disaster story.

The funds raised will assist me in my publishing journey and it will help the design team start their work on the book cover designs while they wait on my final edit and review. The book can be released within a couple of months after submission. I appreciate all the support. Words cannot describe how much it means to me.
Thanks everyone!! :)

Risks and challenges
The final edit and review will probably be the only challenge I may face. It won't be too difficult to overcome. I am thankful to have a wonderful, supportive husband who is a pro in that field. Once I get over that bump, submission will begin!
