About this project
The Sequel to the super popular Ghosts of Gaia. And yes, you can add any of those figures onto your pledge for this one!
Across the horizon....
At last... reinforcements.
Angel, having to maintain the cool exterior, secretly sighed with relief. Now perhaps they stood a chance, perhaps Gaia, stood a chance.

If you pledge for the £1 level but then add on miniatures afterwards, you get the badges too. Basically it's "Everyone that gets something delivered will get badges too".
As well as being another way to say thankyou, it's a great excuse to work with and alert you to some fantastic artists. Here's a bit about them.
Martin Whitmore: Best known in the wargames world for his illustrations for Fenris Games, probably. Having already worked with Bad Squiddo for the Raging Annie, we knew we had to have him back for some adorable bunny splosions.
Beth Wilson: This lady is also known as "Doodlecats", she works full time as a cat obsessive, producing amazingly quirky and adorablefeline based work!
Dani Abram: Dani Abram is a multi-disciplined animator with 10 years commercial experience in games, TV and feature films! She also pops up on Beasts of War now and again, and first came onto Bad Squiddo's radar with a perfect comic about anxiety called "Worry Wart"
Lauren Westwood: A traditional watercolour artist, Lauren is often bringing pets to life on paper in the most beautiful way. A fellow guinea pig fanatic, we know what she'll be drawing if she gets unlocked....Wheep.
In addition to the add ons listed here, you can increase your pledge to include any of the Bad Squiddo Miniatures. This will then be allocated post-campaign in the pledge manager. Check out the website for the full list. Please note that this applies to miniatures manufactured by Bad Squiddo Games only, not those from other manufacturers that we stock. Looky here.
WHO AM I?
My name is Annie and I run Bad Squiddo Games. I first became known in the industry as “The Dice Bag Lady” in 2011 and built up a solid reputation and customer base by providing high quality, unique dice bags to the world, creating a brand new style. This only came to an end when the endless needlework caused my hands to stop working, and I ended up diversifying into miniatures.
Two years later, Bad Squiddo Games sells the largest collection of 28mm female miniatures in the world. As well as manufacturing the ever growing Bad Squiddo line, we stock female figures from around the globe, focusing on those which are practically dressed (which doesn’t ALWAYS mean covered from head to toe!) and suited to the job. It gained momentum exceedingly quickly with a wide demographic of people, from little girls to army veterans. We sell online as well as at trade shows around the UK and mainland Europe, and focus heavily on a strong customer service as well as adding what many have referred to as a breath of fresh air in a sometimes dusty industry.
I've built Bad Squiddo Games up from the bare bones by self funding and working pretty much all the time. By self funding, this is not starting with a lump of cash, it was crawling out the debt I found myself in when my hands (means of income at the time) had issues. So to simplify - buying one figure, selling it, buying two figures, selling them, buying four figures...and so on.
I'm proud of how far I have came in such a short time, and the hard work has certainly paid off. However, producing miniatures is not cheap, and there are so many miniatures I want to add to the range, and it can be a frustratingly slow process. Kickstarter is a great chance to have that cash injection to speed things along a lot.
If I go way over target, I won't be spending it on fast cars and solid gold shoes (maybe a celebratory beer another guinea pig T shirt), most of it will go back into more sculpts and production. So even if you are a fan of my company and sci fi just isn't your thing, this is will be beneficial as it means more shieldmaidens - sooner! More Soviets - sooner! More guinea pigs - sooner!
The bulk of the cost for this Kickstarter has already been covered (ie the sculpts) which is why the total does not reflect the cost of getting these made from start to finish, it is much, much higher! However the generosity of you all from the first Kickstarter meant I put the extra funds into these sculpts, so now all we need is that final amount to get them into production (moulding, casting and metal costs).
Annie Norman: Owner of Bad Squiddo Games, AKA The Dice Bag Lady. Started the hobby as a ten year old girl, and continues to work to create the sort of environment that she would have preferred for her ten year old self. Writes in third person a lot. Yes it's me answering all your Kickstarter questions and plugging everywhere - hi!
Although the project is managed and run by myself as a one-Annie company, I am working with an amazing, beautiful and highly professional team of people to bring you everything from this Kickstarter. Everyone is a hugely reliable and skilled industry professional, many of which you will have already heard of. This should allow you to sleep at night knowing your money is in the safest and most competent of hands.
- Shane Hoyle: Full time professional sculptor who is too modest for WWE style intros. (All the Ghosts of Gaia ladies and wrenchmouths)
- Jo Brumby: Multi-talented man of much skill, Jo works in all scales creating the best of the weird and wonderful. Annie's spirit animal. (Gunny Bunnies)
- Darren Edwards - The boy who will never grow up, Darren is the man responsible for bringing Baggy to life as well as converting Jo's lovely squeepers into killing machines. (Gunny Bunnies)
- Phil Hynes - The very first sculptor to Bad Squiddo Games, and a friend for life. Included in his Bad Squiddo sculpts are already three beautiful ogres, so naturally when we decided we needed an ogre... he the man! (Patti, the Ogre)
- Alan Marsh - Another of the main Bad Squiddo sculptors, we decided it was time Alan got in on the action. He is most notably known as the sculptor behind the WW2 female Soviets. (Scrapyard Kids)
- Ross Whitehorn - A brand new sculptor to Bad Squiddo - you may have heard of him as Krakon Games. Well loved in the Facebook community and has run a few highly successful Kickstarters of his own. He makes beautiful critters. (Bombie)
- Chris Nicholls - AKA Macrocosm. Chris casts his own range in house as well as some freelance work. His beautiful flawless casting added him a spot on the Bad Squiddo team. He is fast and has produced many brilliant Kickstarters himself.
- Dave Hoyles - Industry Veteran and fountain of knowledge, Dave (also Museum Miniatures) is an outstanding caster. He'll be handling all the production casting, and I couldn't imagine a better guy for the job.
- Rob Alderman - Resin caster for the all Baggys, Capycannons, Bombies! AKA Hysterical Games, casts for a whole load of Kickstarters and has been casting for Bad Squiddo for a year now.
- Rob Huntley - Another Rob! One of, if not the finest in the industry. With a keen eye to detail he is one of the gems out there.
As a business with a successful web shop, we ship a lot of packages every day to all over the world, so you can rest assured we are more than familiar with safe packaging, customs and methods.
The shipping is slightly different for each pledge, but around £3 for the UK, £4 EU and £5 Rest of the world, sent by the Royal Mail. Shipping is added at time of pledge, and the largest pledge levels are a mighty Pound more expensive, it is all listed there for transparency. We've kept the postage as low as possible for ease of accessibility.
Bad Squiddo Games is not liable for any customs or handling fees you may be charged.
Risks and challenges
Bad Squiddo Games is successful manufacturer of miniatures as well as stockist of others, so along the way we have learnt how to deal with [hopefully] anything that can be thrown at us, in the most professional way possible.
The sculptors, mouldmakers and casters are all highly experienced. Most of the figures are already master moulded so we know already that there will be no issues in that process.
The first Ghosts of Gaia went without a hitch and is all complete. It was slightly late due to caster delays from "real life issues" but we have left more time on the predicted completion date just in case this happens again.
In the case of any delays, which could be due to sickness, bereavement - anything really outside of control - rest assured your money is in safe and professional hands, and you will be updated regularly as to the situation. Fingers and toes crossed it should all be fine. I'd never say never as it promised me to be honest in this section, and I can't promise I won't come down with rabies tomorrow, but I don't plan on it. (Annie)
On a related note: Unlike many companies on Kickstarter, Bad Squiddo does not have a social media team, a packing team, an email team, a graphics team... you get the jist. It is a one Annie company, I do the whole blinking lot. I'll be answering queries as quickly as possible but if there is a bit of a delay it's because of a really boring reason like I'm eating my tea. It's another reason I totally need your support, thankyou again.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
