ALL STRETCH GOALS UNLOCKED! SCROLL DOWN TO SEE FREYJA ON HER MIGHTY BOAR!
WHAT IS IT
We exploded onto the miniatures scene in 2015 (following years of trading as The Dice Bag Lady) with Viking shieldmaidens. Since then we have released a huge amount of miniatures from WW2, Feudal Japan, Fantasy, Sci Fi and more.
This is a return to our roots in a grand and dramatic way. Something we haven’t offered (up until now) is the option to build an entire army. You want a whole army of kick arse shieldmaidens? Well, hello.
These are suitable for both Dark Ages and Fantasy wargaming, with some of the units and characters also being versatile for a whole number of uses. The core troops are historical dark age (but cool and interesting enough to be used with fantasy) with a mythological twist with some of the characters. All the crazy stuff is rooted in Norse Mythology.
And following Bad Squiddo tradition - yes we have some adorable critters!
You’re not even reading this though, you’ve already scrolled to drool over the images, so let’s do that!
BORING STUFF - The miniatures are 28mm scale and cast in extremely high quality pewter or resin. See the description on each pack for the specifics of material and number of parts. They come without bases supplied but with moulded on puddle bases. And of course - they are compatible with the male vikings from other manufacturers. Side by side compatibility photo to come very soon.
Shipping is charged AFTER in addition to your pledge, scroll to the bottom for more information.
Note - spears are included with the two spear packs!
Remember you can pledge for multiple levels. For example you could pledge for "Fluffy Chums" (£38) in the selection process but add the value (£65) for "Lick my Hand". Just pledge the total (£103 in this example) and I'll ask afterwards for the breakdown. Please do message if you have any confusion.
Please note, prices are "per pack" (denoted by the labels), not "per section", they're grouped so there aren't a million price labels crowded everywhere! For example the Seer is £4 and the Ravens are £6.
Stretch goals for this campaign are unlocked add ons. They are not added automatically* to your pledge so you must increase your pledge amount to include them, and they can be specified after the campaign in the pledge manager.
* UNLESS! Unless you have pledged for Mighty Jarl or Ticket to Vahalla - then every single unlock is automatically added for no extra cost. So you should totally go for those pledges, tasty.

This Kickstarter has a dream team of sculptors involved, all long term sculptors for Bad Squiddo. The characters are a mixture of Shane Hoyle and John Morris, and the troops are all by Alan Marsh. Animals by Shane Hoyle, Ross Whitehorn and Phil Hynes. They have a combined sculpting years experience of at least twice my age (Annie). They are all highly professional, creating miniatures that cast brilliantly, stand up to tabletop abuse, and are an utter joy to paint.
The miniatures are being cast by the professionals at CMA Creative Solutions, who produce the highest quality miniatures we have yet to experience. They are also expert mouldmakers who can turn even the trickiest of minis into a perfect cast.
To show off the figures in a beautiful glory and make you want to snap your own paintbrushes we have Paul Sanderson, Andrew Taylor, John Morris and Paul Cubbin. All wargames household names who's work you will have seen all over the place - we all hire them as they are outstanding!
The project is created and managed by me, Annie Norman! More on me later.
Kickstarter has been great for three large (large for us!) projects so far - Ghosts of Gaia, Ghosts of Gaia II and My Last Sunrise. These have been a super success and created many happy backers across the world. We’ve found Kickstarters to be a good tool to get the word out there, as well as the obvious funds to put a range into production. The reach of Kickstarter is very large, and it will be a better way to introduce the range to a wider audience. Manufacturing is an incredibly expensive endeavour, so the more people we can net in – the better! Since using Kickstarter we have found the “cash injection” to be amazing at helping the company grow much faster than it was before – and that means many more miniatures for you – sooner. So even if shieldmaidens aren’t your thing, the bigger this KS gets – the faster other of the subranges are expanded and released, such as the World War Two or Feudal Japan.
WHO AM I?
My name is Annie and I run Bad Squiddo Games. I first became known in the industry as “The Dice Bag Lady” in 2011 and built up a solid reputation and customer base by providing high quality, unique dice bags to the world, creating a brand new style. This only came to an end when the endless needlework caused my hands to stop working, and I ended up diversifying into miniatures. Two years later, Bad Squiddo Games sells the largest collection of 28mm female miniatures in the world. As well as manufacturing the ever growing Bad Squiddo line, we stock female figures from around the globe, focusing on those which are practically dressed (which doesn’t ALWAYS mean covered from head to toe!) and suited to the job. It gained momentum exceedingly quickly with a wide demographic of people, from little girls to army veterans. We sell online as well as at trade shows around the UK and mainland Europe, and focus heavily on a strong customer service as well as adding what many have referred to as a breath of fresh air in a sometimes dusty industry.
As a business with a successful web shop, we ship a lot of packages every day to all over the world, so you can rest assured we are more than familiar with safe packaging, customs and methods.
The shipping is going to be added AFTER the Kickstarter, so is not inlcuded in your pledge. It's going to be worked out via weight through the Bad Squiddo web store. Click HERE to see the weight and price brackets.
There will be a postage calculator VERY SOON to help you gauge your add ons. It won't be much though, we keep it as low as possible.

Risks and challenges
Bad Squiddo Games is successful manufacturer of miniatures as well as stockist of others, so along the way we have learnt how to deal with [hopefully] anything that can be thrown at us, in the most professional way possible. The sculptors, mouldmakers and casters are all highly experienced. Most of the figures are mastered and proofed to check for any production casting issues, and approved. So as soon as the funds are in, they can put into production moulds and spun spun spun! In the case of any delays, which could be due to sickness, bereavement - anything really outside of control - rest assured your money is in safe and professional hands, and you will be updated regularly as to the situation. Fingers and toes crossed it should all be fine. I'd never say never, as it promised me to be honest in this section, and I can't promise I won't come down with rabies tomorrow, but I don't plan on it. (Annie)
Previous Kickstarters are Ghosts of Gaia, Ghosts of Gaia II and My Last Sunrise. All have gone way over target, been a huge success and delivered on time or a teeny bit late. Ghosts of Gaia II is still shipping (a month late) as it was delayed due to illness but this will be rounded up shortly, and the majority of pledges were shipped on time.
Whilst priding ourselves on doing a huge amount of research, budgeting and planning, there are always things to learn along the way, so we are confident that this will be the most successful yet, and smoothest. And the others were smoooooth.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
