"If you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done." -- Thomas Jefferson
Be confident. Go against the grain. Follow the yellow brick road. Have Faith. Believe in yourself. Trust in the powers that be and be willing to accept the greatest gift of all: love. “Taking a Chance on Love” is a story that encourages these mantras in all of us.
The idea to tell this story came from my desire to be involved in something new and creative, and the fact that I just plain missed performing. So instead of waiting for the phone to ring, I began dialing, texting, and emailing all my artistic friends. Soon, I had a script, actors, crew, and a hard deadline, and the creative team was fully assembled for “Taking a Chance on Love.” With the support of my family we were able to collaborate on all fronts. My father Steve co-wrote, my mother Maria directed and produced, my sister Natasha handled casting and plays the role of Shoshana, and even my little brother Steven has a cameo in the film. I wrote the script and play the role of Brittany.

The script is based off the characters in my own life. Once I knew who I wanted cast the writing came easy. The characters we meet in TACOL are heightened versions of real people I know and have met.
In life, I am reserved and have to force myself to open up to new people, especially when it comes to guys. I can jump out of a plane without thinking twice, but at the slightest sign of an intimate connection I shy away. Making this movie was a chance for me to “fake it” and be the risk taker that I’m not. Oh wait—I am! I made this movie ;)

Share my story with your little sister or brother, your daughter or son, your niece or nephew, your grandchild. Encourage them and let them know you can do anything you set your mind to. Women and men all around the world have the right to know this in their hearts.
Ultimately, this movie is a message to young people like me to say, “If she can do it, so can I.” Whether it’s a job, an academic goal, making new friends, or finding love, putting oneself out there is better than letting the opportunity pass by. Take a chance!

Your support on this movie will mean not only helping get this project completed, but also spreading its powerful message by covering costly film festival entry fees. Between production costs, post-production, marketing and publicity, and festival circuits, we need your help in order to realize our goal. In the coming year we plan to submit to festivals such as Sundance, Long Island Film Festival, the Stony Brook Film Festival, and many more.

Risks and challenges
Due to limited resources, shooting location availability, and a tight production time crunch, we had to allocate most of our funds to production. We need your help to complete post-production! This includes covering the costs of:
- Editing
- Sound mixing
- Original score
In addition, we need help raising money to help with marketing and publicity, and entry fees for all the film festivals we are submitting to. Help us spread the message of love!
