The world has FINALLY ended, and it's time to armor up and fight over whatever scraps we can find!
In our Post-Apocalyptic Paradise, there are games and dames, drinking and dueling, merchants peddling things they've looted from corpses, and more!
Fallout Friday is an adult-only event within a greater series, and it's as immersive as you want it to be!
If you want to jump into something quick and awesome, come get in attack mode in our massive Battle Arena, where you can fight for control of the scorched wastes! The games themselves run a gamut of classic FPS style, objective-based team games. Currently, we run Deathmatch, a style of CTF called the Scrapper Scramble, and Oddball. There's even Boss Battles against the Juggernauts!
Battle Arena Games are fought with stock Nerf guns and foam weapons. (Boffer style swords and such) Eye protection, knee and elbow pads are required in the Arena, because we like having corneas and kneecaps!
If you want to go deeper, this is also more than just a game of Deathmatch or CTF. We're teaming up with groups throughout the region to bring you a complete experience, a real-life cross between a FPS and an RPG. Clans to join, characters to make, EXP to collect, in-game currency to loot, missions to complete, and coolest of all, a coherent storyline affected by Your actions! The rules are intuitive, real-time, and easy to pick up, while retaining the complexity required to stay interesting later on.
The world we're creating needs you.
Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges we face cover a fairly broad spectrum.
We were very, very lucky on our first run, and had an AMAZING turnout of skilled volunteers that we could not have done without. And we pulled it off well. People had a great time, and gave us tons feedback on what they want to experience next time.
One of my prime concerns is scheduling with a venue with enough time to get the word out to everyone who wants to attend. Entertainment venues don't come cheap, and neither do professional lights and sound.
We rent out blasters and other equipment for the night, and providing the darts is necessary, but a huge overhead for us. Thousands of darts at nearly 25 cents a pop adds up fast.
We also must provide some basic protective gear, because it'd be silly to expect everyone to have their own. This is another small, but very important thing that gets pricey quickly.
We want to do this even more spectacularly than before, and we damn sure need to be able to pay the people who worked their asses off for us.
We calculate it'll take $4,000 to cover everything properly, and anything extra will go right back into making things even more awesome-stuff like environmental weapons you can use against opponents in games and Juggernaut Bosses that spew smoke and explode as you destroy them!
