This book project is a commentary on the weekly Torah readings designed for both Jews And Gentiles. This 432 Page book written by Steven R. Bruck (Messianic Moment) is an easy to read discussion of the Torah, which attempts to show Jewish readers that what Yeshua (Jesus) taught was from the Torah and to show Christian readers that the Torah is the root of their faith.
Steven has written three books about faith: Parashot Drashim, Prayer...What It Is And How It Works, and Back To Basics: God's Word vs. Religion. He has sold copies through Barnes and Nobel and Amazon on line, and they are available in both paperback and downloadable, digital format.
Parashot Drashim is his latest work and we are using Kickstarter as a promotion tool to bring in a new audience who may have never read any of his books, seen his blog, watched his videos or may not have even read the Bible. Our goal is to also have extra copies for conventions and speaking engagements.
Parashot Drashim - Commentary On The Weekly Torah Readings For Both Jews And Gentiles
The Newest Book By Steven R. Bruck
The Torah is one of the greatest gifts God ever gave to the world. Unfortunately, it is considered a Jewish book and too many Gentile religions don't see the relationship between Christianity and the Torah.
This book contains a commentary on each of the 54 weekly readings of the one-year reading cycle for the Torah used in almost every synagogue in the world.
My purpose is to honor God's word and demonstrate to Christians that the teachings of Yeshua (Jesus) are based on and from the Torah, as well as to show Jews that he didn't create a new religion, but confirmed the validity of the Torah.
About Steven R. Bruck
I was raised on Long Island, New York in a reform Jewish family. At 8 days old I had my B’rit Milah (circumcision) and on my 13th birthday, I had my Bar Mitzvah. Although I did attend synagogue on a regular basis, I always felt there was something missing, like I was doing nothing more than just going through the motions. Once I entered High School I gave up religious school to concentrate on school sports.
I attended Temple University in Philadelphia, where I received my Ba. in History. During two 6-week summers while at college, I went through Officer Candidate School and when I graduated I received my commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. I served for 3 ½ years on active duty, as well as an additional year in the reserves.
After leaving the Marine Corps I started the first of three careers. My first job was on Wall Street as a Securities Operations Specialist. Over the next 8 years, I rapidly advanced from a clerical position to an Officer position with a major international bank. I also attended night school and received my MBA (Management) from Bernard M. Baruch College. In 1984 I married and in 1992, after an unsuccessful attempt to have my own business, I went through a bankruptcy during a high-risk pregnancy with our son. The marriage had been “on the rocks” for a time before that pregnancy, and by 1993 it ended in divorce (I have two children, Alexandra and Bryce, both of whom have cut me out of their lives.)
During that pregnancy, in order to remain close to home, I started a new career in Sales as a “Tin Man” (siding, window, and kitchen refacing sales) working from telemarketing leads. I stayed in Sales, with different companies over the next 13 years or so, being promoted quickly to Sales Manager with nearly every company I worked for.
In 1995 I was living in Northeast Philadelphia when I met my wife, Donna through a mutual friend. We have been married since 1998.
In 2007 I received a small inheritance and used it to start my third career, as an IT Professional. I went to school full-time, received my MCSE and other certifications and worked as Help Desk Specialist and Network Administrator for three different companies until my retirement at the end of 2016.
It was in 1997 that I came to know my Messiah. Since then I have received a Certificate of Messianic Studies, been on the Council of a Messianic synagogue, where I acted as the Rabbi for 1 ½ years while we were looking for a replacement Rabbi. In 2013 we moved to Melbourne, Florida and I joined a Hebraic Roots church. Within a year they asked me to sit on their Council, as well. I have been “blogging” my own ministry for over 6 years (Messianicmoment.com.)
I am currently enjoying my retirement. I golf, go to the gym, ride my bike, am a volunteer with Wild Florida Rescue (we capture and bring wounded wildlife to a wildlife hospital) and continue to work on my ministry.
God has given me many, many blessings throughout my life, most of which I don’t really deserve.
