RH Jazz Festival in the NY Times today and upcoming show

Dear Kickstarter Backers-

It was such fun to see some of you at the Red Hook Jazz Festival show this past Sunday June 10- thank you for coming!  Those who are planning to come to the next show this Sunday and chose to be on the guest list as a reward can just check in at the front table.

We thought you'd enjoy seeing this article from today's New York Times arts section on the Red Hook Jazz Festival - note paragraph three where the writer refers to how "some of its slight production costs were crowd-sourced online" - that means you all!

After the second show is over on June 17, please look for our Kickstarter survey, which will ask for your home address so that we can send you a thank you card and any other rewards which have not been collected yet.

Hope to see more of you on Sunday!

104% funded! Thank you

To our dear backers-

With 36 hours to go on the Red Hook Jazz Festival Kickstarter campaign we are 104% funded - how wonderful!  We are so grateful for your support - thank you!

There are just a few days to go before the first RHJF 2012 show coming up this Sunday, June 10 and we're busy setting up the Urban Meadow for this fantastic show. We look forward to seeing most of you at the shows!

Thanks a million from all of us and enjoy this video from last year's show - which gives a little taste of what the Red Hook Jazz Festival is all about - great music and hanging outside on a beautiful day:

Yours truly,

Paul DeLucia, Michael Golub & Tamar Smith

Many thanks - 70% funded!

Thank you so much - with your help the Red Hook Jazz Festival has reached 70% of it's $1500 goal in less than a week.

RHJF was also chosen as a staff pick by Kickstarter!  Very cool.

Please spread the word to anyone you know who is interested in jazz or the arts in general - the past five years of the Red Hook Jazz Festival shows what a small and dedicated volunteer group can pull off when they love music and believe in keeping this art form alive and kicking!

We thought you might enjoy a look back at some past RHJF shows which are held in a beautiful outdoor space on the Brooklyn waterfront.

All the best,

Mike Golub and Paul DeLucia, big bang productions
