We are so excited that THE 27 CLUB has been accepted into the NY Fringe. It's a play that we're very proud of (it's been in development since June 2009.) But making it to the Fringe takes money -- we've got travel expenses, rehearsal expenses, lodging expenses, and simple production expenses.
THE 27 CLUB is the story of Martin Rose. He's a 27-year-old burnout, ex-singer for the rock band Cruelty, and is watching his too-brief career fade from the public consciousness. He's also the son of Howard Rose, a powerful novelist whose literary immortality is already assured. When the woman who came between them tries to bring them back together, she inadvertently tips Martin off to a way to gain his own immortality and outlive his father -- by joining the infamous "27 Club" of artists who died too young.
THE 27 CLUB is funny, sweet, sad, and has lots of original music and movement. Please help us fund this play to give it its best shot to shine at the NY Fringe! Performance dates are 8/11-8/19, 2012, at the Kraine Theatre in NYC.
