Hi folks! Kaiti jones here. Some of you know it’s been a little while (nearly 4 years) since I properly released new music into the world. Others of you may never have heard of me or my songs before. But since you’re here right now, I’m hoping in some form or fashion you’re interested in helping me share my music with all of you.
There are few things I love more in life than storytelling. Since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to be connected the people around me, and to share in the experience of life in the context of community. Early on I found storytelling to be a remarkable tool by which to do this. There have been many times in my life where I don't have the language to understand, or learn, or heal from my own experiences. I've often then encountered a song in which the storyteller frees me with the language to tell my own story. This is what I work to do as a songwriter. Songwriting is a way for me to take the isolation, confusion, and misunderstanding that riddle the human experience, and to provide folks with a little bit of help to tell their own stories. My forthcoming album, titled VOWS, explores the types of contracts we enter into every day as human beings. With our relationships, our families, our beliefs – we are constantly taking vows with the things around us, for better or worse. I think this a universal part of the story of human kind, and the songs in my album explore this experience in different ways.
Earlier this summer I had the chance to record VOWS with Bryan and Sarah Vanderpool (of the band The Well Pennies) at Golden Bear Records in Des Moines, Iowa. Now that tracking is completed and we’re nearing the final stages of wrapping up the record, your support is vital to helping me cover some pre and post-production costs.
Your financial support will contribute to the following remaining costs:
Studio musician fees & travel
Marketing & Promotional costs
It is one of my greatest desires to tell good and true stories, stories that will mean something to the people who hear them. Thank you to all for supporting me as I seek to to do this. I am grateful for each and every one of you.

Risks and challenges
There are always risks when assigning deadlines to creative processes. However, since much of the heavy lifting has already been done earlier this summer, we're pretty squarely on track to meet our goals and head toward a Late November release for VOWS. I will update you as much as I can and will certainly let you know should anything change regarding the release. But if all goes as planned, you should expect digital copies of VOWS by the end of November, and physical copies early December!
