In an industry where most Halloween attractions are in and out of business in 4-6 years on average, Castle Blood will be starting its 22nd year this fall. After a few moves in the past 3 years, we have purchased every Halloween fans' dream location, a huge 3- story 100- year old funeral parlour. Stone facade, tower, the works.
But it has seen better days, and has been urban scavenged pretty heavily.
So we are looking for help to repair the building itself, so we can then haunt it, which of course we have all the stuff to do.
We had the money to buy the building, so we're all set there, but need you to join us in making this everything we all dream it can be.
We are a Classic Theatrical styled Haunted Attraction.
What exactly does that mean?? Well, we take you on a tour of our wonderfully old and beautiful home which serves as a Morbid Sanctuary to all sorts of bizzarre and strange beings.
No chainsaws here, or killer clowns, but insteadan elegantly evil array of vampires, werewolves and other creatures of the night.
Your group will be sent on a journey to find and earn the 3 talismans of the castle to win the nightly challenge.
Our tour is like finding yourself in an old black and white monster movie!
We are plenty scary, but we are so much more than that: think of us as a local community theater group, for that's really what we are. A place where you and your friends can come have a great time together, laugh, scream, and enjoy everything that Halloween is always meant to be.
STRETCH GOAL #1
a project this huge has many facets. Our base goal of 6500.00 will do just what we asked for, get us back to code with utilities and get us more like a 'real' building again LOL
so, what are and why have stretch goals? to make this the very best we can be as soon as possible.
and we will make some great offers to folks who help us reach these goals
Our First goal is 8,000.00 and at that level, all backers at the 50.00 level or higher will recieve a traditional Scottish Clan Badge of Clan MacCabre. These are cast by use in resin, sculpted by well known figure scupltor Justin Shifflett. These are NOT availible to the public, just to cast members, and our backers
The money from this goal will go to help build the part of our gift shop that will house our little Monster Museum, which will also be the home of a rotating display or costumes and collectables from Marty (Uncle Vlad) Gear, who left us in 2013. He was a major figure international in Fannish Costuming ssince the 1980's, and we are honored to be in charge of this part of his legacy
STRETCH GOAL #2
At 10,000.00 each backer at the 10.00 level of higher will recieve a numbered and signed by the artist and the subject 8x10 print of this artwork. Produced by Horror Host Mr Lobo
The Money for this stretch goal will be used to build an out door cemetery to take full use of our new property. we need to build this right, so it lasts and we can secure it. For our old castle friends, that crips outdoor wutumnal air was the only thing missing from the place we had the last 2 years. We want to bring that back, and find a way to keep you out of the elements as well, and we know just how to do it
STRETCH GOAL #3
These crazy summer rains we have had 2 weeks of, have shown us some roof problems that we need to address, so our budget has gone up accordingly, sadley
so, if you have already given, you will get these gifts. if we haven't reached the goal of a gift you like, please tell all your friends to sign up, then you both get them, plus of course your friends get all the stuff for whatever level they choose
So the stretch goal gifts are
A- a nice castle tote bag to put all your stuff in
B- Your name on a Kickstarter Thanks sign hat will be displayed in a good spot where all will see it for a year
We are just trng to raise the working capitol to make all our dreams come true, and that of course is to keep bringing you the best Halloween we know how
Risks and challenges
Not only have we built 5 versions of Castle Blood since 1993, but we have also worked on over 2 dozen other haunts all over the world.
When a problem arises, we know what to do.
We have 2 licensed Haunt inspectors on Staff who lecture for the state of PA on haunt safety and codes.
Before we ever bought the building, we went over every part of it with our local zoning and code enforcement officer, so we know what he wants us to do, and how he wants it done.
Our biggest challenge, even after all these years, is getting people to understand what we are, and how we are different from other Halloween events. So the faster we can get the construction side of things well underway, the sooner we can start really hitting the marketing on this.
We have even been talking to production companies about a documentary on this new place, or maybe even a reality show for the fall!
