OrcQuest WarPath, the miniatures
At Maze Games, we are huge fans and big collectors of miniatures, for both playing and painting. It was actually during an afternoon of miniature boardgames that the foundations of what would become Maze Games was formed.
Even if OrcQuest WarPath is not exactly a miniatures game, it is very important for us that the miniatures in our game are as beautiful and detailed as possible, and that is one of the reasons why we decided to work with some of the best names in the industry. So they can bring our miniatures to life.
Detail is something we care about, a lot. Each miniature should tell a story just by looking at it. Between a decided Orrus that marches forward as if nothing could stop him, Mek ready to stab someone, Mandar in the middle of a spell…
… and obviously, let´s not forge tour bad guys, with a knight bravely facing our orcs, an agressive cockatrix or even a charismatic sorcerer.
We are incredibly happy with our sculptors Gael Goumon, Fausto Gutierrez Lopes (GT Studios) and Victor Hugo. They have given a soul to each of our miniatures, so that they can tell the most badass, heroic tales on our board tiles.
We made sure that our miniatures were produced at a scale that is commonly used on today´s games, 32 mm at eye-level for the humans.
By looking a tour heroes next to each other, we quickly understand why Orrus is the leader of the band and why he isn´t affraid of facing danger.
We are big fans of the work that the great Martin Grandbarbe does on his miniatures. We have asked him to paint Thalla for us, on a resin cast.
By using his incredible skills he has given life to her. Our Amazorc is now ready to go hunt for men.
As we told you before, we love miniatures. And that is why we are demanding with the process of sculpture quality and plastic production.
At the beginning of the OrcQuest adventure, when we created the card game, we had the chance to meet Paolo Parente in person. It is thanks to him that we have the amazing illustration of Maridess, our amazorc priestess that is being offered on the Orc Pledge.
Even if he is known for his incredible illustrations of female characters, he is as well, one of the major names in miniature production of the present-day. We are pretty sure you have been amazed by the work of his team before, in miniature games by Mythic Battles, Zombicide Green Horde or Massive Darkness, to name a few.
We had the chance to meet him, during a dinner in Paris, so that we could discuss the miniature production process and to anticipate any potential technical problems. We discussed the production plan and we showed our desire to have miniatures that are the closest possible to the sculptures we have been showing you, as well as to be able to announce realistic production dates, to all of you.
Even if if it´s the first time we are creating a miniature boardgame, we made sure to work with the best. We have seen in the comments that you had a lot of question about the miniatures and we hope that with these informations you will be confident of the quality that will arrive to your gaming tables.
