Our Goal, and Beyond
We’re
still fairly speechless at APRIL. In case you hadn’t heard, we reached
our Kickstarter goal of $2,000 yesterday, after some immensely generous
donations. It took us just thirteen days--thirteen!--to reach our goal,
and for that, we thank you.
We
started our Kickstarter project with plenty of optimism--after all, who
wouldn’t want to lay claim to an original piece by, say, James
Yeh?--but we’re still positively floored by the reception we received
from you, our donors. You all are the greatest indie lit-loving people
we’ve had the good fortune to meet (electronically or in person) and we
can’t wait to read you poems over the phone, send you your Reverse Fan
Mail, and write about you for our Reader Profiles.
It’s
incredible to have secured, for all intents and purposes, our
fundraising total--it makes everything we do from here on out so, so
much easier. You all have provided our festival with the stability and
flexibility that’s unbelievably important for an arts organization.
Again, thank you.
So,
we’re set for our base sum. The incredible reception tells us, though,
that there’s still plenty of people who want to be involved. We’ll be
continuing our Kickstarter until the official end date (Feb. 15), so
please send a link along to any friends you think might be interested,
and we’ll keep you updated as we begin to finalize our events. We can’t
wait to tell you about all the stuff that’s going on for APRIL; for now,
though, we’ll have to keep you on tenterhooks. Until then, we remain
Very Humbly Yours,
APRIL
