Also, he technically isn't selling this product on another web site. He seems to be taking money from people for pre-orders, but it isn't clear that he is actually selling anything. If you look online for news and reviews, they say what we already know.There's nothing in the past year.

he logged in may 2, 2014 - could you refund or do whatever you said you were going to do? Since you haven't done the project, you are supposed to refund the money - read the kickstarter FAQ

Well, I hate to say this, but maybe it's time to send a complaint to the Virginia Attorney General.
I noticed that the lenses are now $75 on the web site.
i believe his story - but he's promised to follow through still, but given no updates, given no refunds - done nothing. I'm waiting for rewards from others as well, but they haven't made false promises. so follow through or state for the record - no one will ever receive anything - its may be embarrassing, I get that - but its more embarrassing to run and hide. its a terrible way to treat people.
@Scott, while I am not trying to defend how this has worked out, I don't think that Cameron had any intention of scamming us. Maybe I'm naive in this case, but I believe his story about what happened. At worst, he underestimated what it would take to make this all happen. I think that he genuinely felt he would be able to deliver in October 2012, and that by now he would be well into a second or third project, building on the success of the first. I think now he's frustrated and embarrassed about this. I'm not assuming I'll ever get my reward for this, but I don't think it's a "scam".
I'm still waiting for rewards from several Kickstarter projects. In some cases, the creators have the projects completed and are just not interested in shipping. In others, the projects were just harder to do than the original creators assumed. I've really only felt scammed in one case - that was with a creator who decided to not complete the project and promised refunds, which were never sent.
I finally got a response from him - certainly angered him enough to get a response, and he accused me of having a hissy fit, probably fair enough. At least i know he still has a pulse and cares enough to respond - but not enough to update here or come to whatever resolution he wants to do here. I had to resort to snail mail of all things. Well, whatever - his quote was "I'll refund your money when everyone from kickstarter gets their replacement lens." I eagerly await more information on that.
He's still on twitter @lynnylens just tweeted out on 12/6 - having a sale on his lenses with the money he stole from us. Thanks for the help, Kickstarter!
Unfortunately there are many like Cameron who see Kickstarter as an easy way to scam people as there is literally no way of getting funds back.
I also note that Kickstarter does not allow you to report scam projects now. It seems you can only report a project if it isn't formatted correctly....LOL

James, I doubt that this project will have any real effect on Cameron's future. People get away with this kind of thing all the time, at all levels.

@Andrea, I didn't say you or anyone needs to feel guilty, only I do. And you've got it all wrong, you say that statement as if the end of this project all happened at the beginning and I planned it all out.
This whole project started with a goal of me being able to deliver products to everyone, you included. Like just about every single project on here, there is always going to be hiccups along the way, nothing and no process is completely perfect, bound to go perfectly every time with every scenario. I am deeply sorry that this doesn't happen, but you express your frustration as if I told everyone that I am not going to be delivering a product at all, but I did not say that, I will be delivering a product as I feel all of you deserve a product.
I did not build all of this from the ground based on the understanding that I would later have it removed by legal means just so I could take all of your money and waste it on a product that has not only failed you all, but has also failed me. Does that make any sense to you for anyone to do that? I would not use all of your money knowing that my product would be removed. That is not right.
And I did not say any of you would have to put a penny toward the new project. But I said anyone could if they Wanted, but I also said I didn't expect anyone to because they didn't have to.
And though I appreciate you "taking your comments back", there is no "fixing" whatever it is that you said. That's like beating the mess out of someone, stealing everything on them, and then saying sorry, nothing can fix the damage.
And the reason there was legal issues with the Lynny in this project is because it has a flexible body, and Lensbaby claims to have a patent on that general idea. Nothing I can do but just make a camera lens that does not use any features in their patents, which is what I am doing now.

another concern of mine is that you are looking to get other people to help fund this next revision of Lynny lens. Another group of people that you are going to try and take advantage of. That's why you leave your comment open for people to post. If you had not wronged anyone no one would leave you unjust comments. I think everyone that was supporting you were rooting for you. It was your actions that led to this backlash, and it is up to us as internet community to make sure you don't do the same to some other good hearted people.
Your apologies aren't going to cut it. I will not be held guilty because of your failure to deliver. When you say you will be able to do something for a certain amount, take the money in advance, come up with a multitude of excuse, to finally put the blame on someone else, and then expect me and everyone else to foot the bill. That in my eyes is a scam, as much as is is for those Niger Princes wanting me to help them get their money out of Africa.
I think if you had kept updates more frequent and didn't leave this detail out until the last minute I may have even believed you. But for me I feel it's too late. The reason why you are getting negative comments is because people feel duped. If you are not a scammer give me my money back. I will gladly go on all those websites that I posted those comments on, and take them back, and tell them what an upright citizen of the interwebs you are. But I have a feeling I'm not going to have to do that.
Below you say and I quote "As I said, if I am unable to deliver a Lynny Lens, I will be refunding" I'm going to be that voice of reason for you. ( if you are truly not a scam artist) You will not be able to deliver this product. Ever. What makes you think that Lensbaby if they were able to stop you now, they will not do it at your next revision.
Therefor you will NOT be able to deliver, and should be giving us a refund. If you are what you say you are.
Also maybe a good show of faith you post that email you got from the CEO of LensBaby.

I will still ride on this journey with you, as I have been from the original KS campaign, through the indegogo camapaign, and then this KS campaign.
I do feel it is my right to expect, and receive REGULAR updates. This is the least you can do. You want us to all be happy? Fine. I will take you at your word (although it is a bit hard to swallow) and not post negative comments, demand a refuld, etc. AS LONG AS YOU KEEP US UPDATED. Every 1 - 2 weeks. Faithfully. NO MATTER WHAT.
You ask us to be angry at Lensbaby: why? They sell and ship product to customers. You call them your competitors: that's a laugh. You don't have anything to sell.
I want my money back now: I don't want it mixed in with other money on another doomed project. Money back, please.
@Andrea I understand what you're saying, and if the solution has to be a refund, the it will be. But instead I am working extremely hard to deliver a much better product to you all, a product which will be far better in many ways. Also I can tell you exactly the reasons why I disable comments, first, to prevent spammy comments with virus links, as when I allowed them before that's the majority of what I got, automated spam comments. And honestly, I hate to say Andrea, but another reason is to prevent negative comments like yours, which you filled up the facebook business page and twitter. I understand your frustration, I do, but to ask for a refund, and within minutes, post negative comments on my accounts and here is not what a person wanting something would normally do to get what they want. As I said, if I am unable to deliver a Lynny Lens, I will be refunding, but please, refrain from posting negative comments on my accounts. I am not a scam artist, that is just completely untrue, but I understand your disappointment and frustration.
@jcip There should be no problem sending the whole set as you ordered. The only difference will be the actual model. Everything else about everyones orders will remain the same.
@everyone I really need you all to know that this alternative path is going to make you much happier in the end, as the new products are going to be FAR more superior and much more professional and much more easier to use by far, and it have much more customizability options.
Also I mentioned in the update that I do not ask or require that you pledge to the new project, but it was entirely up to you to decide. And I also said that no matter what you do, I will send you the lens no matter what.
It's my never ending goal to see to it that all of you are happy end the end, please let me try and please don't try to take me down more than I have already been. I am trying to make you all happy. No matter what it takes

even thought, as you've said, we don't need to put in extra money to your new lynny7 or 8 main part itself, but in a way, if we want to get what we pledged originally for a set, we'll have to buy more parts from you in the future, isn't it?

If Cameron you do not start handing out refunds then, you will force us to make sure we post on your other websites, and kickstarter type websites that you are just a scam artist.
Please do the right thing, and refund the money to the people who are tired of hearing the excuses, because at this point that is all they are.
@James, Please know that the info I said was not BS, I had just gotten the email from the company yesterday, and yesterday and the day before is when I built the lenses and packed them up. I had 11 of them ready to ship today, but the email I received yesterday makes that not possible. As I mentioned in the comment on the update, I do not ask or require that you pledge to the new project. I will ship you a lens of your choice no matter what. And the $25,000 goal is probably too low. Please know having product produced is very expensive, the Lynny rubber was almost $2000 alone, and it's just a hollow tube. The new models have about 13 parts which will cost thousands per part.
