About this project
You are the Emperor Napoleon or the Duke of Wellington and you will strive to rout the opposing Army by eliminating enemy units and achieving secret objectives. Use your Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery to drive back the first line of your opponent, outflank him to attack his reserve and break his army's morale.
Napoleon Saga is a board game created by Frédéric Romero and illustrated by the talented Giuseppe Rava, a master of Military paintings and Uniforms (illustrations for Osprey publishing, Games Workshop, Italeri and many more European and American companies for an amazing quantity of historical works).
FRANCE: The French army, led by their Emperor Napoleon, is skilled in all aspects of the 18th century warfare. The well trained regular army is here to hold the ground while your devoted and powerful Guard units steadily advance to the front line. You can rely on your most experienced units, the “Young Guard”, the “Old Guard” and the “Grenadiers à cheval”, to bring you Victory and Glory!
GREAT-BRITAIN: The Coalition army, led by the Field Marshall Wellington, is an adaptable force, able to overcome any adversity with its units’ specializations. Drawing upon the strengths of the different members of the Coalition they can break through any obstacle they are confronted with. Be it with the British infantry -the backbone of the forces- the impetuous Scots Greys or the ferocious Highlanders, the Allies will prevail!
PRUSSIA (KS Exclusive): The Prussian army, led by the old “Marshall Forward” Blucher, might be less professional, but it more than makes up for it with its loathing of the French soldiers! By the numbers, the Prussians will have the largest deployed infantry and with the support of their Prussian cavalry they will extract revenge from Napoleon’s forces. Be it with the timely Landwehr cavalry, the unassailable Uhlans or the unbreakable Cuirassiers, the Prussian army will trample over its enemies.

Each player starts the game with two decks: his Army deck and his Strategy deck, as well as a Game board representing his side of the battlefield.
The army deck contains your Units cards from which they are drawn and placed on the battlefield. There are three types of unit cards (Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery) and their characteristics are represented by four icons corresponding to their capacity for shooting, melee, cohesion and morale strength. In addition to these, some of the units have special skills and keywords.
The Strategy deck contains your Action cards which help you influence the course of the battle through Events and Combat formations, granting various bonuses to your troops and ensnaring opponents in deadly situations.
A cunning tactician will know when to hold on to these card and when to pitch them early to play first, since the Strategy cards can also be used to determine the Initiative each turn.
Starting with the First player, the players will alternatively spend one of their three Activation markers. With an Activation marker, a unit can shoot, engage in melee combat, or move. Only one Activation marker can be placed on each unit.
Your troops will sustain casualties that could cause them to retreat or even die if at any point of the game the number of casualty markers on a unit equals or exceeds its Cohesion score! The death of your units is not to be taken lightly, since it is the primary source of victory points for your opponent. You may win more victory points by fulfilling your secrets goals, chosen at random or through deliberation at the beginning of the game.

In order to get the best rates for all our backers shipping will be charged after the campaign ends. Depending on the demand it will allow us to charge more fairly based on the actual costs and will be collected through a pledge manager system.
We are already working with two shipping hub in the US and in Europe. Depending on the demand and number of backers other hubs are in consideration.
Here is a list of our estimates for shipping based on the core game, costs may rise depending on the size and number of unlocked stretch goals and add-ons.
Please note that all pledges that are confirmed after the Pledge Manager deadline will be shipped from our EU hub at a later date. It will mean delayed delivery and most likely increased shipping fees.

After 2 years of development and countless playtests, we believe that Napoleon Saga can be the bridge between historical war games and board games. With an easy-to-learn gameplay that can appeal to both kind of players, Napoleon Saga offers a dynamic and fresh take on strategic gaming.
Making this game a reality can only be done with your participation.
The success of this project will let us commission the painter Rava for more artwork for the game, making possible the creation of expansions and unique rewards for you.
Your help will also make the game better for everyone, we’ll be able to upgrade the quality of the components and add more contents to the game. The higher we go, the greater the game!

Risks and challenges
Backing the project of a brand new company always brings a bit of mystery and faith as you never now what to expect.
This project might be the first for L'Oeuf Cube Edition but our team relies on veterans of the gaming industry. True tacticians try to adapt to the environment and bring victory to their nation, and like them we will be dedicated to overcome any unforseen adversities and deliver you the game you deserve!
As with all kickstarter campaigns we are conscious that delays can happen but we've already secured our manufacturerer and most of the artworks are done.
We've also contacted several fulfilment companies to ship the game to different continents so we can keep the shipping cost at a reasonable rate.
With all that in mind, we've considered a timeline that we're more than confortable with and if everything goes according to plan (which it never does...) you should be expecting the games sooner than later.
Note that even if the game is at an advanced state of development, it is not a final product and art, design and rules are subject to changes as we move forward with the last stages of production.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
