I have been producing artisan breads out of my home kitchen for about 4 years. I've wrestled with kitchen renovations, limited counter space, and a chronically broken oven. The home oven I have is simply not made for the volume of bread I have been producing. I need a bread oven to be able to more efficiently and consistently supply bread to meet the demand of Fremont County.
Despite having a degree in Wildlife Management, I feel a deeper connection to creating something wholesome and nourishing that is also artful. I've never been good at drawing or painting, but when I pull a loaf of bread from the oven, I feel proud and confident that I have helped make something beautiful.
My dream is to be able to supply the greater Lander area with beautiful, fresh, artisan breads on a consistent basis and with greater ease than what I have been able to do in the past.
Our plan is to convert the garage to my baking space. This will mainly require equipment such as a commercial style bread oven. Additionally, I will need to have electrical work done to install a surge protector and a 220V plug. The money raised here will be used to purchase a Rofco B40 bread oven. The balance will be put toward the electrical work and the Kickstarter fees.
Risks and challenges
The risk factor is relatively low. This is not a retail store, but a chance for me to work from home making a product that people love and raising my kids at the same time. There are not many renovations that need to be made to make this happen. The equipment needs to be purchased and installed and then I'll be baking away.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
