Joel Ross (Writer/Producer) is the founder of Clearbrook Entertainment. Most recently, Joel wrote the script for In the name of the King 3, distributed by FOX. Aside from that, he has written and developed many screenplays for Clearbrook that are ready for production, Riverside being first on his list to create.
Chris Coppola (Producer/Actor) is an accomplished American actor, known for The Polar Express (2004), Beowulf (2007), Postal (2007) and many more. Chris was handpicked for the role of George Clark in the Riverside series, bringing a charismatic yet chilling character to life.
Martin Guigui (Director) is an award winning Film Director/Producer. He was Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but grew up in New York, Puerto Rico and Vermont. Guigui directed and produced music driven documentaries about Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton and Sun Ra. He worked as a sound engineer at ABC News and enjoyed acting stints, co-starring in the indie cult classic, Time Chasers (1994). Guigui then wrote his first feature film, My X-Girlfriend's Wedding Reception (1999), and went on to direct and star in the quirky comedy starring Dom DeLuise and Debbie Gibson. Tooted as the "Spinal Tap of wedding receptions," My X-Girlfriend's Wedding Reception (1999) won critical acclaim in the film festival circuit and launched Guigui's career as a Writer/Director. Martin has gone on to work with some of Hollywood's most notable stars, recently as an Executive Producer on In Dubious Battle, Directed by James Franco.
Several years ago I started writing what I thought was going to be the coolest indie thriller/horror film out there, RIVERSIDE. I thought, I’ll bang this script off in one draft, take it to Hollywood and make my movie. Then I woke up.
This project has been my passion for 10 years and it has progressed immensely and become what I truly believe to be chilling. I am proud of what Riverside has become and we are truly blessed to have director Martin Guigui signed on to the project.
Why so much money you may ask? Well here it is...
If we are able to raise 500K-750K, we will be able to start production. This means securing our production office and crew, signing all talent, and finalizing our location scouting. While some of this money will allow us to begin production and get the camera rolling, we still need to raise more funds for the rest of the production and post production. That being said, we will be able to gap finance the rest of our budget, which means the movie gets made.
Besides creating all the cool perks, we need to find a strong crew, actors (every movie has to have someone famous, and that takes a little money), locations, equipment, travel expenses for the cast and crew, if we shoot in multiple cities, and we can't forget to feed everyone.
And if that's not enough, we have some really cool special effects that will make this movie even better. But the most important people we need to hire are the production accountant and production manager, to make sure that we come in on time and on budget, and that every dollar we raise is spent efficiently.
How can you help? Besides your contributions and support in this project you can:
1. Follow us all over the internet. Check us out on Facebook and Twitter and you’ll be helping your friends, family and co-workers discover our campaign.
2. Tell your friends and family, and then tell them again. We need to reach as many people as we can, and we can’t do it alone. Following us? Help us spread the word.
3. Get your tickets now: You’re going to want to see this movie on opening night. Maybe you’ll go with all your friends. If you convince your friends to get their tickets now, we’ll be able to make a better movie for you. So plan ahead, get your tickets, and help us shoot this thing the way it was meant to be.
4. We understand that not everyone can contribute financially, and that’s okay. Spreading the word and leading everyone you know to the campaign increases our chances of reaching our goal.

So this is how it works: if we’re able to raise at least $500,000 in the next 45 days, we will be able to get to work on RIVERSIDE this summer, as we are aiming for a Halloween 2018 release. But $500,000 is the bare minimum we will need to get into production.
We’ve got some awesome special effects in the script, and if we’re able to raise enough money, you’ll get to see them all. The more we raise, the more terrifying stuff we can put in the movie. More action, more locations and more special effects. And overall, a better cast!
And here’s the other thing: to get RIVERSIDE a wide release – to get it into a theater near YOU – we need to prove that we have a following.
That means, the more people who contribute and help us make the movie, the better our chances of getting a wide release, and getting to a theater where you can sit back and be scared silly.
So, for those of you who loved the films Scream, Saw, and Final Destination, sit back and get ready for a new chilling series that will bring us back to some of the great Suspense/Thriller/Horror Classics.
The sleepy little town of Riverside, holds evil that no one could imagine. There's a killer in the midst who will stop at nothing to ensure complete terror to anyone who crosses his path. Suddenly nobody is safe, as the psychopath stalks his victims through a psychiatric hospital, turned ski resort. He then rips them to bloody shreds.
Risks and challenges
As this is the film industry, yes, there are going to be risks and challenges.
What does this mean for you? The only risk is taking a chance on a great project with your generous contribution. We as Clearbrook face the real challenges.
Whether we are in the industry or not, we all know that every film's greatest challenge is distribution, and we agree. That being said, we aren't shopping to the major studios. This is where the majority of problems lay.
Upon completion of the film, Clearbrook Entertainment's main focus is to shop the film to major exhibitors (movie theaters) using our in house Film Booker. On top of that, our talented staff will promote the ever-loving you know what out of this project on every social media outlet.
Clearbrook will set aside a portion of the funds raised for prints and advertising (P&A) used for our theatrical release.
A lot of amazing films have been made. But without P&A and strategic advertising, most films don't stand a chance.
So what makes US different? Well, if we weren't confident in this project, we wouldn't waste our time. We have spent years getting this project to where it is now. I believe with the proper marketing, this film will be a great success.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
