About this project
Writer/co-producer Alan Thornburg and director/cinematographer Michael Cory had made numerous commercials and short films on their own before they started working together in 2012. Since then, they have made 3 short films, including:
"The Shootout"...Written and filmed in under 48 hours, with no budget, it won Best Story and Best Original Music at the 2012 48-hour Corpus Christi film challenge.
"Roads We Choose"... won Audience Favorite, Filmmakers' Favorite, and Best Supporting Actor at the 2012 Corpus Christi 7-Day short film festival. It was made in under 7 days on less than $300.
Michael and Alan are now ready to grow beyond short films and make their first REAL movie - a full-length feature movie! The script is written. Casting and securing locations have started. They already have cameras, audio recorders, and lights, and some crew. But money is still needed for the movie's costumes & props, food for the cast, promotional material, film festival entry fees, fuel, etc.
Finally, here is the movie trailer for The Pupil:
*** NOTE: They are hoping to raise more than $6,000 for this project. $6K is just the starting point before we start filming. Contributions above $6000 are welcomed, even after filming has begun. ***
More details and updates for The Pupil are available on the movie's Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Pupil/321182211312025
PG. This is a family-appropriate story and contains no cussing, sex, nudity, or drug use. There IS some implied violence but nothing bloody or gory.
The script was written with Corpus Christi in mind, so that is where all of the scenes will be filmed. That is also why we are able to make a feature movie on only $6K; there are no long-distance travel expenses, no hotel costs, and no airplane tickets to pay for.
