Far beyond the center of the galaxy, different factions collide in a contested solar system. Whether as scientist, native, pirate, corporation or imperialist, you are trying to accomplish your secret mission before your opponents. You discover planets, conquer space stations, and fight other players for territory. Mighty fleets will help you suppress your opponents, while diplomacy paves the way for a flourishing nation.

Cosmic Empires is a fast evolving 4 X game, which provides the players with a multitude of options and gives them the opportunity to build their individual strategy.
The game is played on a board of randomly set-up field tiles, guaranteeing a different play experience every time.Additionally, the different roles and multiple goals provide high replay value and variety.
Last but not least one of the highlights are the upgradable ships miniatures in this game.
Cosmic Empires - 2nd Edition offers tactical finesse in about 60-90 minutes. The whole game with all components is going to be in English.
We tried to design the pledges as simply as possible. There are tons of supplements possible for the game and those that are closely related to each other, we put together into an Add-On. All others will be unlocked by stretch goals.
The REINFORCEMENTS pledge is NOT a standalone game! It is designed for all owners of the 1st Edition Cosmic Empires. With this pledge they can upgrade their copies to an equivalent of the 2nd edition.
To add more games beyond the first, increase your pledge amount by the amount stated plus the reduced shipping costs for each additional copy (see chart down in "shipping").
To add the Add-On separately, simply increase your pledge amount by the amount stated. Add-Ons don't increase shipping costs.
Cosmic Empires provides the players with a broad choice of options and gives them the opportunity to build their individual strategy.
One of the unique features of this game are the upgradable ship miniatures. Upgrades are simply inserted into the miniature - very simple and effective. Each ship can be equipped with 2-3 additional powers to specialize them.
The core game contains 2 upgrade types: advanced weapons and shield technology. As the very first stretch goal you'll get also the tractorbeam.
The board consists of different field types:
There are Planets. They provide powers which benefit the controlling player. In addition planets always increase the player’s fleet capacity.
Stations also give positive effects to the controlling player.
And there are other fields – wormholes, asteroidfields, pirates or simply free space. But even a field, which doesn't grant any powers can be tactically important and integral to your mission. At the beginning of the game all fields are shuffled and placed depending on the number of players.
Beginning with the starting player, each player takes their turn in order. A turn consists of two phases:
- The active player generates their bonuses from his controlled fields.
- They can perform one and only one action to take influence on the board.
Further they can add or rather use additional powers they’ve obtained through event cards, public missions or their strategy board at any moment during their turn.
This mechanism of 1 action promotes fast rounds, ability to react to other player’s decisions and the necessity of prioritizing your options. Moreover, a player’s turn is not convoluted and it is easy to create a good strategy.
Goal of the game:
Every player takes the role of a faction. They provide the players with one unique special ability. Furthermore every faction chases a bundle of individual goals. At the beginning of the game each player chooses one of them, which determine his personal goal in the game. By reaching the conditions of one secret mission the game will be over and that player wins.
- Empire - Starts the game with 2 capacities and 2 frigates
- Natives - +1 Population on each planet
- Scientists - 1 Activation provides 2x effect
- Corporations - +1 die during combat
- Outlaws - Before each combat, you may draw 1 event card. You may play up to 2 event cards each turn. You have no hand limit.

We offer a wide variety of stretch goals in the campaign. There are lots of elements which would fit well as Add-Ons, but we like the idea that everybody who supports the game should benefit from these supplements without the need of spending extra. Thus there will be stretch goals quite frequently and they are going to be very interesting and useful in the game.
We also believe in the satisfying feeling of achievement and we want to create this feeling of excitement in you, like a birthday present, that waits to get opened.
So the stretch goals are an important aspect in this campaign and it is good for us to do this together, to open these presents, like a good game that can only be played together.
Here we also have the opportunity to realize components the backers are excited about. You are invited to participate and tell us your opinion!
We ship games in bulk to fulfillment centers around the world to reduce customs fees & VAT and to keep shipping prices low.
Thus we tried to make simple pledges this also benefits the shipping cost calculation. We charge the listed shipping cost once per pledge for the 1st game. For any further copies of the game (any pledge, with or without add-on) we charge a minor price. To see the costs for additional copies take a look at the chart. So the more games you get, less you pay for shipping per piece.

Diplômé de l’E.S.A.G, Benjamin Carré est un artiste numérique qui exerce dans de nombreux domaines. Principalement connu pour ses centaines d'illustrations de couvertures de romans (SF, Fantasy) ou de comics (Star Wars, Mass Effect, Lantern City, Blade Runner). Il est aussi auteur de bandes dessinées (Smoke City et Vampires²). Risks and challenges
Since we published a 1st edition of Cosmic Empires in the year 2012, we had some time to learn much about the gaming business. We are conscious and experienced about production aspects, audience needs and worries and about game creation. Even the production of the plastic miniatures with their particular upgrade set-up, has been minutely planned. The miniatures are finished and production requirements are set.
The challenge for us will be the world wide shipping. It is the first time for us to handle shipping on such a large scale. We are aware of this fact and so we worked hard to set up stable conditions and fair shipping prices. We ship games in bulk to fulfillment centers around the world to reduce customs fees & VAT and to keep shipping prices low. In the most countries we have partners to ensure a correct distribution.
We've done everything to be best prepared and to bring this project to its best success.
Thanks to our good production chain we are optimistic to deliver the game before this year's Christmas.
