Take a vacation to 5 days of film, music and art in downtown Duluth on the glowing shores of Lake Superior. Relax and take in a film.
Relax...you have plenty of time to help us reach our goal of $2,000 by May 6th and make our 4th festival the best yet.
In this past year we have seen an explosion of arts activities in our region. We hope that the Duluth Superior Film Festival (DSFF) has, in some way be part of the fuel to this incredible cultural change. Now is the time to act to be sure that the regional filmmaking and film-going members of our community are supported in their love of cinema!
We need your help!
In an incredible annual 5-day event, DSFF screens numerous independent films, produces multiple music performances, and hosts parties in an extravaganza of film, music and art.
DSFF brings film directors and industry professionals to The Twin Ports for receptions hosted by the festival, Q & A sessions after festival screenings, and insightful panel discussions and workshops.
The Duluth Superior Film Festival is pleased to celebrate its 4th appearance in Duluth and is expected to attract thousands of attendees.
We can’t do this without your help: we rely on the generous donations of people around the Twin Ports to continue to bring these life changing films to our community. If you think you’ve learned from or been inspired by one of our programs or had an experience that really stayed with you, we are asking you to help others join the movement. Will you support us?
What makes us different?
Twenty years ago, there were only a few, major film festivals around the world. Since that time, film festivals have exploded and nearly every town has their own festival to present as a cultural badge. What distinguishes one festival from another? The DSFF answers with SERVICE.
Here in The Twin Ports we are fortunate enough to have what just about every other festival desires—Beautiful natural landscape and incredible access to hospitality services. DSFF brings in multiple film directors and industry professionals to The Twin Ports for receptions, Q & A sessions, panel discussions and workshops. We are able to do this because we can offer services that most festivals cannot…high level hospitality service. We like to think of our festival as the Vacation Festival for our guests. For this reason, filmmakers speak raves after they’ve got the chance to attend our festival and enjoy what the Twin Ports has to offer.
Fabulous hotels, an ‘Adopt-A-Filmmaker’ personalized hosts, unique and interesting tours, Lake Superior and the childhood home of Bob Dylan all make DSFF easy for filmmakers to want to attend.
But...even with sponsorships, community support, and volumes of In-Kind gifts to the festival…the hard facts are that we still need actual money to make this all happen.
And we’ve got some cool perks as an appreciation for your support.
Check out the benefits you’ll receive along the right hand side of this screen. You’ll find that the actual value of the items you’ll receive for your support are greater that the cost of your support. Not many Kickstarter campaigns can make that claim.
Where will your money go?
Ticket sales only cover a small percentage of festival costs like venue rentals, program curation and bringing filmmakers to the festival. We rely on individual and community donations bring you the world of cinema. DSFF strives to inspire and mobilize the community to take action and we simply can’t do this without the support of individuals like you.

The risks are very low that we will not fulfill our commitments. The festival dates are set and confirmed and we are currently on hard deadlines for programming, festival events, printing, etc. The perks are tightly tied to scheduled activities that will definitely occur during the festival.
