You Kickstarted Me

Hey Backers!

With two weeks still left, we've exceeded $100,000. Wow. That is amazing. And it's all thanks to you guys.

We had a photoshoot with JJ Casas for "You Kickstarted Me," his new photo project that profiles entrepreneurs who've used Kickstarter to launch their new idea or product. Thanks JJ, we had fun working with you!

Right now, Alex is discussing details with our manufacturer to get going on the first round of tanks. As promised, here's a preview of the retail box:

Lastly, we wanted to alert you to the new pledge level. For $500, you get it all - the Desktop Jellyfish Tank & Starter Kit, Jellyfish Art T-shirt & hoodie, and a grateful shout-out on our website. If you've already backed our project, you can still upgrade your pledge amount (just click "Manage Your Pledge").

A huge thank you to all backers, Tweeters, Facebook status posters, and friends! Every dollar and supportive word means a lot.

NBC Interview

It's been another busy week.  Thank you for all your continued support!  It keeps us moving!

This past week the tank was featured on NBC News (video) and some top blogs:

Laughing SquidGizmodo and Uncrate

There's also a "behind the scenes" look at our Kickstarter campaign on their blog.

We hope to have pictures of our first retail box for you next update.  Stay tuned!

Jermain Dupri

Hey Kickstarters,

Remember Jay-Z and Jermain Dupri's hit song "Money Ain't A Thing"?  Well, for us hardworking Americans struggling in the recession money is a thing, but thanks to Mr. Dupri's recent tweet sales have boosted in the past hour.

We met our goal!

Just one day after starting the Kickstarter campaign we met our goal of raising $3,000!  Many many thanks to all you donors.  This capital will enable us to reach the minimum quantity order from the factory to get the first batch of inventory of the Desktop Jellyfish Tank produced.

We have been absolutely blown away by the power of Kickstarter. We've watched the campaign spread throughout social media channels and it's amazing how powerful those can be for getting the word out.  The excited comments and words of encouragement keep pouring in and it gets us really excited too.  Yesterday we celebrated with a BBQ in Golden Gate park and bid farewell to one of our summer interns who is going back to school for the fall.

Our Kickstarter campaign will continue to run for another 32 days and we hope those donations and pre-orders keep coming in.  The more we raise, the more purchasing power we'll have when we approach our vendors so we can incorporate the best components and make this product totally rock.  Please continue to spread the word.  You've done an amazing job so far.  We'll keep you updated on our progress and can't wait to see this campaign through to the end.

Thank you everyone!
