With the fierce momentum of the #MeToo movement throughout 2017, it has become clear that the conversation around consent is in the process of a major evolution. For the first time in decades, society is collectively expressing outrage at what is being uncovered in regards to boundary crossing.
I believe that, generally speaking, there is a learning curve when it comes to respecting boundaries. I also believe that learning how to respect boundaries can be learned as well.
That's why I've decided to launch this Kickstarter to fund the publication of my upcoming book, The Consent Guidebook.
The Consent Guidebook is a light-hearted, easily digestible resource to help start productive conversations around consent and provide a general blueprint for the reader in regards to establishing boundaries and respecting the boundaries of others in all kinds of situations.
Some current chapter topics include: Why Consent Matters, The Basics of Consent and Respecting Boundaries, Keeping Others Accountable, How To Have Productive Consent Conversations, Support Resources, and Online Consent: Respecting Boundaries Online Including Photo/Video Sharing. We also have an amazing artist currently working on illustrations to be sprinkled throughout the book.
The Consent Guidebook will also include advice and stories from Sex Educators, Health Teachers/Professors, Sex Workers, HR managers, Civil Rights Professionals, and Industry Professionals on the subject of consent.
Join in on the movement and help keep this very important consent conversation going. Now is the time! Please consider backing our Kickstarter campaign today to get The Consent Guidebook published by February 2018!
Risks and challenges
Our tentative publish date is February 14, 2018. This is a very doable publishing date, if we can get this project fully funded by the end of January 2018.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
