Hello people of Earth,
We're Name Redacted Podcast, and if this is your first time hearing about us, Welcome to the family!
We started Name Redacted Podcast 4 years ago as a hobby. A way for 3 friends to sit down, have a few beers and tell ridiculous stories. Over time it has grown to encompass all manners of pop culture; from comic books and their creators, to movies, local music, and Chefs. Also, we had absolutely NO CLUE what we were doing, but we’ve learned as time passed and even have been nominated for Best Podcast by YES! Weekly.
Now taking all the things we have learned, we want to expand our horizons and bring our insanity, ridiculousness, and heartwarming debauchery to a new medium. We present to you Name Redacted: Thinks You Suck (catchy huh?), a weekly live stream video show. Think of it as a variety show only hosted by 3 charming lunatics. We need your help to make this happen, so we can bring you our vision.

Risks and challenges
There is inherent risk to any Kickstarter, especially your first one. How much should a reward tier cost? What if it doesn’t get funded at all? What if it gets over funded and becomes too overwhelming to fulfil? Starting a crowdfunding project is an intimidating process, one that deserves a lot of respect.
When we were building this kickstarter we spent a huge amount of time looking at other kickstarters (all 836 kickstarters for podcasts is you can believe that). We really wanted to make sure that we got it right.
Over the course of running Name Redacted we’ve had the amazing opportunity to interview so many incredible guests. A few of whom have found a sort of living through kickstarter. Many others who jump started careers from a funded project. A few of them were nice enough to review our project.
Through attending cons, through podcasting, writing, and music, we’ve managed to stumble into an incredibly supportive creative community. Many of our reward tiers, and our upcoming update videos are all the direct result of really awesome people helping us buy a chance to do something really cool.
We’ve been tossing around the idea of doing a live show for some time now. We’ve always been excited about the prospect of having a live audience for the podcast. Having the ability to talk to people, involve people, foster creativity, and extend resources to anyone who wants to make a serious play at an artistic endeavour.
I guess I’m rambling a little bit, and I’ll have plenty of time for that in subsequent updates. What I’m trying to say is that we are incredibly committed to creating a show that is not only as entertaining as we possibly can possibly make it, but continue to introduce fans to creators that they love (or hopefully come to love), and build a bridge for these amazing creators to better connect with an amazing community.
And we would absolutely love to hear from you guys. Maybe it’s 3 am and you’re bored. We love to talk, it’s why we chose a life of podcasting. Maybe there are some things you look for as a backer that we aren’t quite nailing. We’re stoked to work with you, and improve our kickstarter from your feedback.
I think this is the part where I’m supposed to say something cliche’ like “Every dollar helps,” and it does. But we also understand that sometimes rent cuts it a bit close. So if you can afford to throw in a dollar or two, and find this even the least bit interesting, please do. Not because a dollar is going to be a game changer, but because it allows kickstarter to send you updates on our progress. Worst case scenario you get the perverse enjoyment of watching a burning dumpster fire go down with the ship like it’s trying to beat James Cameron diving to the titanic. Best case scenario you get to be apart of something great.
If you can’t afford that dollar, throw us a message and we’ll make sure you stay in the loop, and never run out of interesting content to consume.
We cannot wait to talk to you guys more, you are all beautiful humans.
But on the record, we still thinks you suck.
May the force be with you,
Alex, Collin, and Chris
