Be creative in 2018 following every month words of wisdom of the Mr Cup creative manifesto letterpress calendar. It is a hand numbered limited edition.
DELUXE EDITION FRONT COVER
The deluxe edition will be on dark blue paper, with copper foil and white foil.
NORMAL EDITION FRONT COVER
If the paper is the same, it will ink printed and not hot foil as the deluxe edition. We will print in 2 colors with silver and white inks.
ECO-FRIENDLY PAPER WITH LEATHER AND FRUITS RESIDUES
For this year edition, we will use 2 ranges of eco-friendly papers developed by Favini.
The REMAKE collection is high-end uncoated paper with a pulpy look. The special touch and the natural look of the paper are due to the up-cycling process which includes leather residues to substitute FSC cellulose and is produced with 100% green energy.
The CRUSH collection is a range of papers made using process residues from organic products the replace to 15% of the virgin pulp. By-products from Kiwi, coffee, hazelnut or almonds. FSC certified, GMO free, this paper contains 40% post-consumer recycled waste and is also produced with 100% green energy.
THE CREATIVESThis year cover is designed by Tom Lane also known as Ginger Monkey.
For every edition, I ask graphic designer and typographer to create unique font work. This year edition will feature unique designs by Salih Kucukaga, Nick Misani, Reno Orange, Keith Tatum / The Type Hunter, Jeff Trish, Stefan Kunz, Lauren Hom, Jef Millotte, Kelli Anderson, Francis Chouquet and Me!
They are currently working on the design and they will be shown as soon as possible during the campaign! Here come the first designs.
THE LETTERPRESS PRINTING & STUDIO PRESSION
The calendar is printed in France, at Studio Pression. Letterpress printing has the ability to create relief into paper by adding tons of pressure while printing. It’s called deep impression, or debossing. And it’s done at the same time, printing AND debossing, always one color at a time. The thicker the paper, the deeper the impression. For a crisper effect, we use much harder magnesium plates instead of photopolymer. Here come some pictures of last year printing.
GOAL / STEPS
Kickstarter adds together reward production costs with shipping costs. Therefore, although we need :
Paper and Printing: ±6400 € Post costs and order fulfillment: ±700 € Designers: 2400 € 5% Kickstarter fee: ±500 €
This raises our funding goal to a total 10,000€ (± USD$11,700).
We unlock the third goal of 200%! The next target is now 240% to do create a dedicated website to the project since the first edition in 2011!

Risks and challenges
The main challenge is to reach to goal over a limited time period. The past edition sold in 3 months, from early November to the end of January. I hope the highlight of Kickstarter will make to costs funding possible in a month only.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
