Sacrificing comfort for style has always been seen as a necessary evil when designing the latest, trendiest shoes for women. This kind of compromise has existed for as long as our weakness for cute footwear, and it's a trade-off that is no longer required!.
While this sacrifice might have been the norm in the past, we see no reason fashion and style should continue to have such control over how our feet feel, torturing us for the sake of beauty.
Our kickstarter project is brought to life by the need to inform women that they should never have to make the choice between comfort and fashion. We fuse the appeal of attractive but impractical shoes to a form that is supportive and designed to hug the contours of the foot. This is where our breakthrough takes flight, eliminating the failings of modern shoes, the designs that bind the wearer's delicate foot, and replace the notion of sacrifice for the latest, hottest pair of stylish shoes with the blending of carefully researched designs that exemplify the best of both worlds.

Can Stylish Shoes Really Be Comfortable?
Most people have given up on the idea that stylish shoes can be made comfortable because most of us have only ever worn the latest uncomfortable trend in shoes. If designing and producing comfortable heels was easy, every shoe manufacturer would do it. But it's not easy.
In fact, designing a fashionable shoe that incorporates comfort is very time consuming. It requires meticulous attention to detail. For example, the addition of thicker padding material on the insole of an open toe shoe can distort its overall look, making it look less appealing. Many companies neglect it therefore, because adding such feature increases production time and cost, causing product price to increase. Hence, the reason most shoe companies focus only on the overall appearance of their shoes.
Christina LK designs combine the ease of all-day wear in a casual shoe, with the glamour of today’s hottest shoe styles. We produced several prototypes, incorporating ergonomic design and comfort factor into boots, flats, and low, medium and high heels. The manufacturing process was tricky, but at last, we nailed it! We finally found the key to producing stylish shoes while maintaining a high level of comfort.
What we offer
Most fashionable shoes today pose the same problem: discomfort. This forces women to choose between looking great and feeling great. We want women to have the best of both worlds. Christina LK has successfully fused the sophistication of trendy footwear with the comfort of a tennis shoe. The goal of this Kickstarter project is to maintain style without sacrificing comfort.
This project is about more than a woman and her shoes. This project is also about boosting a woman’s confidence. It’s about encouraging women to express their personality through their personal style. Rather than settling for what is comfortable (but tacky) or what is available, our shoes satisfy the desire for a shoe that is both beautiful and functional.
No more putting compressed and displaced toes second to uncomfortable fashionable shoes. Stop subjecting a tortured instep to unnaturally arching shapes in order to promote a sexily shaped curve of ankle and foot. Choose against lack of support to the sole when accommodating the pitch and turn of shoes that are super-narrow and hostile to the health of the stride of the woman wearing them. These conditions can be gone forever by embracing the comfort and glamour of Christina LK Designs footwear.
We have tested a wide range of prototypes and have selected the best group to test our product design features: the ballroom dancing community. Ballroom dancers apply considerable amount of pressure on the ball of the foot area for 2-6 hours causing pain and swelling on their foot.
To test the quality and functionality of our unique design features, I incorporated our ergonomic design and comfort factor when I designed my own ballroom dance shoes. After 3 months, and with great encouragement from other dancers, we designed and produced dance shoes which became a big hit for the ballroom dancing community due to the comfort level, support and the designs of our shoes. We interviewed two dancers regarding their experience with Christin LK dance shoes.
- Samantha - Samantha’s been wearing Christin LK shoes for 1 year.
Ivy - We asked her to product test one of our shoes while working (8PM - 1AM)
Our product testing has been very successful. Now, we are ready to implement our ergonomic design and comfort features in our fashionable shoe designs.

Designing for ourselves
My design experience stemmed from the desire for something different than what was offered in the shops I patronized. Growing up, my sister and I altered our clothing and shoes to fit our taste; our innovations drawing the compliments of others.
First shoe design challenge
When my sister was diagnosed with foot drop, our designing abilities were put to the test. The condition affected her ability to raise her foot or toes while walking. This problem dramatically changed the types of shoes she could wear. Now the desire for something different shifted to necessity. We needed to find a lightweight shoe with good ankle support, thick inner padding and a non-slip, traction sole. This type of shoe was all but non-existent. Each new pair of shoes presented the challenge of adapting them to her needs. At one point, we secured her sandals to her feet with clear bra straps. We’ve come a long way since then! Through years of altering and improving my sister’s shoes, I learned a great deal about how to design them.
First designs released to the market
In 2011, we produced our first 13 designs which were sold online and in some boutiques. The successful launch of our premiere designs inspired us to keep improving, focusing our design practice not only on fashion, but also on comfort.
Getting closer to our ultimate goal - To fuse the sophistication of stylish footwear with the comfort of a tennis shoe
In June 2012, I stumbled upon the art of salsa dancing and fell instantly in love with it. I purchased a pair of expensive dance shoes, but was disappointed in their level of comfort. I was told that traditional salsa shoes are supposed to be made with a thin toe so dancers can feel the floor, but I needed shoes with a well-padded insole, comfortable enough to keep me dancing for hours at a time.
I was confident that with some simple improvisations, I could create a better dancing shoe. This inspired me to design my own dance shoes. After three months of testing them, we released our first inventory of dance shoes which are sold online, in dancing equipment stores and dance studios. Designing dance shoes gave me all the knowledge I need to design stylish shoe with the comfort of a tennis shoe.

Risks and challenges
We take production planning seriously, but some events may be out of our control. Including:
Materials and accessories:
Material (s) and accessory (accessories) used on the prototypes presented may not be available/may be discontinued during the production process. In this event, we will choose the best accessory /material replacement available to compliment the shoe design. Despite small changes, you will be ready to strut your shoes upon receipt of your Kickstarter shoes.
We will follow import/ export regulations. All paperwork will be prepared ahead of time. Should a situation/delay arise, we will do our best to clear it up as soon as possible.
Shipments are usually released by United States customs within two weeks. For the past 2 years, our shipments (air/ocean) have been released within two weeks without issues. We do not cut corners. Not only are we meticulous in our shoe designs, but we are also are sticklers for following import and export rules.
Shipping within the United States may be delayed beyond our control. Once your Kickstarter product ships out of our warehouse, we cannot control potential delays on the part of the shipping company.
Your Kickstarter product may be delayed due to the following reasons:
1. Customs clearance: We will fill out paperwork as accurately as possible.
2. Tariff Rates: The delivering courier may collect a tariff fee before they can release your shipment. This regulation varies from country to country.
3. Lost shipments: We have had bad experiences shipping to other countries. Some orders were lost during transit. Again, once your order ships out from our warehouse, it is out of our direct control. We strongly recommend insuring your shipment. To do so, please add $5 to your pledge.
