BOOMERMANIA: THE MUSICAL ABOUT THE BABY BOOMERS!
WHAT IS BOOMERMANIA? BoomerMania is a raucous off-Broadway style comedy musical that lovingly lampoons the life, times, fads, fashions, and music of the Baby Boomer generation. The show features six young triple threat actors who dance, sing and act their way through a series of comical vignettes that recreate what it was like growing up during the eras of the late 1950’s through the early 1980’s. It’s forty years of memories, multi media, real baby boomer music, (music by the Four Tops, Paul Simon, The Bee-Gees, Aretha Franklin, Tommy James & The Shondells, Bob Dylan, Herman’s Hermits, to name a few) with funny parody lyrics, all jam packed into one electric 90 minute celebration which tells the story of the Baby Boomers.
THE PLAN, STAN
For a minimum of $99,000 (yes we could use MORE, please!), we will produce the newly revised version of "BoomerMania: The Musical" in Los Angeles in a 99 seat (or larger) theatre, for a run of at least 6 weeks, and we’ve got an amazing tried and true team to do help us do it. And with this production, we plan to attract producers, more investors, theatrical agents, bookers, (many of which have been tracking our progress and are anxious to see the new show) to help us bring BoomerMania to many other cities and towns in America, maybe even yours! (NYC, PHILA, DALLAS, MIAMI, PORTLAND, VEGAS, BALTIMORE, to name a FEW!)
Here’s what we need the money for: theatre rental, insurance, legal fees, finishing the musical tracks (the soundtrack), cast & crew salaries, rehearsals, promotions & ads, programs, better costumes & wigs, new set & props, microphones, photographers, multi-media design and more. This is a big show, and theatre is expensive.
WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS!
So far – our friends, family and college cronies have all ponied up money to get us to this point. We’ve thrown in thousands ourselves, and we’ve invested the last 4-5 years on this project, we are tapped! We’ve worked tirelessly, and we won’t stop until this show is in your town. We hope you will consider being a part of this experience. And if you can’t afford a pledge, you can still be a big contributor of this project by sending the link to your friends, and then check back with them, post it on your facebook page and then post it again. People need to be hit over the head, especially the ones who lived thru the 70’s! Be our Boomer Booster. Trust us, you’ll want to enjoy BoomerMania with your friends and family members when it comes to your town.
FLASHBACK – THE MUSICAL "HYS-TERY" TOUR
The original idea for BoomerMania came out of a 60's themed party we threw in 2007. People dressed in fashions from the era, and partied to period music, TV show themes, and commercial jingles that blasted from the stereo. People who'd never met each other before bonded like old friends over shared experiences. It was the best party ever - nobody would leave (some are still there). We thought, "How can we get rid of these people?" Better yet, "How can we bottle this euphoria?" Then the idea came to re-create this feeling in a show. We began conceiving & writing it on a cross-country road trip and we put up an East coast workshop production in 2008. Then we took an unplanned break to battle cancer for two years - we won - and we re-opened, stronger than ever in 2011. The revised version of BoomerMania: The Musical About the Baby Boomers opened in North Hollywood, where we ran for an unprecedented 8 months! It was amazing--audiences just kept coming and coming back. People laughed, they remembered, they bonded, again. During this time we constantly rewrote, cut, punched up, made actors take their clothes off -- anything to make it a hit. By the time we closed at the end of 2011 – we were just about there. The papers RAVED on! Check out the reviews on our website www.boomermaniathemusical.com
Folks came out in groups. High schools had their reunions at our show, Boomers threw birthday parties. We couldn’t believe the standing ovations, rave reviews, and it wasn’t even done yet! We thought, “Wait till these people see the final version!” We teamed up with some producers, but then their money fell thru and new we are raising it ourselves to move to the next level. And now we’ve made our final changes to the script added a few brilliant people to the production including Joel Zwick as an Artistic Consultant, and we think the show's in incredible shape, and is ready to set the world on fire, starting with Los Angeles.
BoomerMania is more than a show -- it’s a Celebration!

WHAT IF YOU’RE NOT A BOOMER?
Well you don’t have to be in a gang to love West Side Story! Or behind in your rent to enjoy RENT! Here’s who loves BoomerMania: Boomers, kids of Boomers, parents of Boomers. It’s Americana at it’s funniest. It’s a new American musical. This show is for Baby Boomers, anyone who raised a Baby Boomer, anybody who was raised by a Baby Boomer, or anybody who has heard of a Baby Boomer. Hell, pledge in your parent's name - makes a great gift!
Do you get the money if you don't reach your goal?
No this is an all or nothing website. Let's make sure we hit the goal.
Can you over- fund your goal?
Yes, please! Honestly more money will just insure a greater chance of success. We'll run longer, attract more investors, build a traveling set as there are gigs we had to turn down due the fact we didn't have the capability of traveling. We would also like to be able to take a backer's audition to NYC - to try to get an Off-Broadway run, there's much to do! Please pledge on and tell your friends.
Why don't you know exactly when or where you are opening?
Because it depends on the availability of the theatres in LA. We can't reserve without money. We hope to open in the winter of 2013, but may not get the funding in time to rent a theatre untill the spring of 2013.
Will people be able to see my pledge?
No, they will only be able to see your name (only we & you can see the amount pledged.) It's very anonymous.
Can I give my pledge gift to someone else?
Absolutely! This makes a great gift to a Boomer or theatre lover.
Can I pledge if I'm International?
Absolutely. We'd be honored to have you be a part of this. We hope to come to your country!
Where else do you hope to open BoomerMania?
NYC, Philadelphia, Chicago, Florida, Dallas, Boston, Detroit, Phoenix, you name it, we will come there. Every Boomer in America will have a chance to experience this show.
