Hi! Thought I'd post an update here, since a few sites are linking back to this project page again. So, here's the latest:
Kentucky Route Zero is still in development. We'll be releasing it in five acts, with Act I coming in December 2012 and the rest coming every 2-3 months throughout 2013.
Here's a short trailer we made a few days ago when submitting the game to the Independent Games Festival:

Just a few hours left in the drive! Here's the second character profile. We'll continue sending a monthly newsletter with images & information like this to all supporters pledging $5 or more after the Kickstarter drive ends.
A restaurant in which musical robots play country songs for customers has recently closed, but all the robots are still intact and active, trapped and abandoned. Junebug, the robot band's singer, has received special programming that qualifies her to write her own songs, but has as a side effect imparted upon her a poetic consciousness. Unlike the rest of her band, Junebug is able to think laterally and imagine a better situation than being chained eternally to the darkened stage of a shuttered diner.
Junebug can help Conway and the rest of the group by speaking the language of poetic machines, translating abstract concepts between humans and computers, and hotwiring small electronics.
We're very close to the end of the Kickstarter drive -- thanks again to all supporters! Here's one of two short character profiles we'll be posting in the last couple days of this drive. We'll continue sending a monthly newsletter with images & information like this to all supporters pledging $5 or more after the Kickstarter drive ends.
Ezra & Julian
Conway finds Ezra & Julian perched on the top of a construction site in Bowling Green, lost and alone. Ezra, a boy of about 7, and his brother Julian, a bald eagle, have been separated from their family, a flock of eagles, while migrating from Alaska to Florida.
Conway & companions can bridge large gaps by gliding with Julian's help. Ezra's unique background grants him useful insight in some circumstances, which he'll share with Conway during conversation.
