ANGRY SAMOAN GREGG TURNER LOOKS TO RECORD A SECOND SOLO CD, "CHARTBUSTERS!"
Hey everyone, VOM veteran, Blood Drained Cow and Angry Samoan (quite the pedigree, huh?) Gregg Turner back with you! Three years ago, with your generous support, we successfully Kickstarted a recording project culminating in the release of a solo CD "Gregg Turner Plays The Hits" (this and digital downloads still available from CD Baby and Amazon) as well as a 7-inch pic sleeve 45 rpm ("I Dreamed I Met Lou Reed" b/w "I Lost My Baby To The Guy At The Bobcat Bite").
This time around, got some new gregg-arious and groovy new songs that I'm anxious to release and share with you - and I'm looking to Kickstarter and your help once again to make this possible. Beyond digital online format (begrudgingly), my goal is to produce and manufacture a CD and companion 10-inch slab of vinyl. Can't help it, I'm a dinosaur - I need the tangible, tactile hard copy product to hold in my hands.
That's what this one's gonna be called. Only suitable to follow the last one: "Plays The Hits." Lotsa catchy melodics ("Franz Kafka"), some Del Shannon-inspired doo-wops (I beg indulgence for the comparison), a Roky Erickson rocker or two (the "Stand For The Fire Demon"-ish "Kremlin Dog" as well as a cover of "I Walked With A Zombie") and even a kids' song called "Hide And Seek" with my 11-year old daughter Nico joining in on the chorus ! Hey - and whatever happened to Sheila Klein and Marsha Bronson, Lou Reed's graduating class of 1967? Check out "The Box" for what will be the "Gifted" iconic/sonic sequel update 48 years later (pushing the boundary of blasphemy, I know).
BIlly Bill Miller Returns !
And speaking of Roky Erickson, electric autoharp virtuoso, Joe Meek disciple and the otherwise no-holds-barred musical savant behind Cold Sun and my first solo cd, Billy Bill Miller, will be returning to record. Joining him will be percussive wiz Britt Alexander and my old blood-soaked cow cohort Matt Miller resonating the low lines on bass. It's a family reunion of sorts, and we're all reaching out to you to make this viable. We intend to track at the Taos, NM studio of David Costanza who was instrumental in nailing down the sound on my last effort.
I'm anticipating that $5000 should cover the majority of the costs here - that would involve tracking a dozen or so new tunes + the cost of manufacturing cds and 10-inch vinyl mini-LP's for those with a turntable. Any help you can lend to make this project realizable is, naturally, appreciated and the premiums and inducements have been created to reward your support of this endeavor.
Thank You/ Peace

Risks and challenges
The goal is to track the new tunes in March 2015, assuming we fund from Kickstarter by the beginning of February. From that point, masters will be rushed to the pressing plants and hopefully we will get product completed by June or July. Last time, when we pressed 7-inch 45's, the pressing plant had an order in for a Beatles' re-issue package! So we experienced a delay of a few months. Hopefully, the Beatles won't be back.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
