Pirates! is a fun and engaging card game created by geeks, illustrators, designers and engineers.
It took over 4 years to develop - from creating the first prototype, painting all illustrations to designing a well balanced gameplay.
Pirates! is uses an exciting combination of cards, tokens and dice. The playing cards (in contrast to a board) make of every turn an unexpected adventure, just like a real pirates’ life. The customised dice and crew tokens bring fun and excitement to the battles.
With your help we will get Pirates! into production and make it accessible for people from all over the world.
Sharing = caring! One of the most critical aspects of making this project a success is getting the word out to everyone that might be interested. But we need your help to do it.
If you help us out by sharing the project URL on Facebook or including it in one of your Tweets, we'll reward all of our backers by unlocking the new stretch goals!!

Mass production (as the name implies) is about numbers. The larger the production run, the cheaper it gets. That’s where the stretch goals come from; more games = lower production costs = more money to spend on extra’s.
The chart below illustrates where the funding goes.
Risks and challenges
The Pirates! team consists of an industrial designer, two illustrators, a graphic designer and a production manager who all happen to be game geeks. The artwork is ready to be printed and different professional production companies within Europe are competing to become the producer of Pirates!
The total production process is expected to take between 2-3 months. From there we just need to send it out to you guys (or you can drop by in Amsterdam to pick up a signed copy yourself).Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
