A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.

For years skiers have had to slide their feet into hard shell ski boots and make the dreaded walk from the parking lot to the lift to enjoy a day of skiing. Dealing with uncomfortable ski boots will ruin any day and is probably the least fun part about skiing. Why are snowboard boots soft and comfortable while skiers are stuck with vice like boots? Is it to much too ask to have comfortable feet AND enjoy a full day of skiing?
We at Envy Snow Sports have solved the uncomfortable boot problem. Our revolutionary product, the Envy Ski Frame, allows skiers to use any of the top manufactures snowboard boots to go skiing! Finally skiers can stop being envious of snowboarders soft boots and comfortable feet.
How It Works
The Envy Ski Frame was built to bring comfort to the skiing world while providing optimal support by using a lightweight but rigid frame in combination with a snowboard boot. It functions just like a normal ski boot by clipping into a standard alpine binding but with the advantage of being able to walk to and from the mountain while wearing a snowboard boot. When the users is ready to get back on the hill, the snowboard boot is placed inside the ski frame and is secured. The frame, made from aircraft grade aluminum and molded plastic provides the perfect balance of stiffness and rigidity necessary for skiing. By using 4 straps to secure the boot to the frame, the ski frame offers incredible adjustability and ski control.
The Envy Ski Frame adjusts to fit a wide variety of snowboard boot sizes. With two sizes and 3 length adjustments, the ski frame allows you to have the perfect fit for your foot. Listed below are the different sizes and adjustments that match up with US shoe sizes.

The Envy Ski Frame is unique in its design compared to traditional hard shell ski boots. What is not unique about the ski frame is how it works with alpine ski bindings. Designed to the same ISO 5355 specifications as all other alpine ski boots, the ski frame will work with any alpine ski binding. The ski frame has the same binding release properties as a standard ski boot and will work with ski shop testing equipment.
