Do you ever wonder what 'Made in China' actually means? I want to show you the incredible journey behind the objects that we all have in our homes, yet know next to nothing about. This an epic story that spans the globe, and defines a way of life for millions.
This summer I want to go back to China to finish the project I started in January of 2014. I spent 2 weeks in the urbanised South East, travelled on cargo ships from Korea, visiting factories, and refineries. In those two weeks I discovered the industrialised urban China, but now I would like to go farther afield, to visit the remote mining sites, and landscapes that contain the raw materials that form the starting point of this journey.
This money would go exclusively towards my trip, flights, accommodation, food, a few extra pieces of equipment that I figured I need after my previous trip, (lots of storage, memory cards, tripod, etc.)
Backers will be mentioned in the credits, and will receive exclusive private links to view the film before its public release.
Lastly, £3000 is the minimum I require to realistically undertake this trip, but I would like to add that any donations above that would be just as valuable and would still benefit the project immensly.
Risks and challenges
This expedition will be part of a collaborative group of writers, artists, architects and researchers arranged by Unknown Fields and travelling as a group, the risks of the project are relatively low. For the moment I am just focussed in the expedition, there is chance I may require more funding for grading/editing/sound design at a later stage.
It is very difficult for me to estimate the release date of the film, but all backers will receive private link updates to see the film in various stages of production before its public release.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
