      Thanks, Patrick. Great feedback!

Thanks QT Games! We really appreciate it, and we're looking forward to the next phase.

about the promotion, there are Facebook and Youtube pages where Kickstarter projects can advertise, also Reddit ; best thing would be to find already famous people in the business to spread the word (Wil Wheaton seems quite passionate about RPG)

You've got a great attitude about the situation, the drive and a noteworthy concept that has legs to boot, so I'll look forward to seeing you guys pushing forward in the days ahead! I've a feeling things will go better the next time around! Keep us informed! :)

It is too bad as the setting sounded interesting. You may have reached for the moon as your last two kickstarters were in the $10,000 dollar range. Maybe you can break this into two with a campaign for the adventurer and players books and a second one for the GM and blessings. I'll make sure to keep checking your website. Good luck and don't be discouraged. You won't be the first kickstarter that had to retool, refocus and relaunch to success the second time around.

    6. Marc Tassin 3-time creator on September 28, 2016

Thanks Dominik! Thanks RH! Never fear. When we aimed high we knew the risk. It doesn't change our goal, which is to get the setting out. We've got a plan, and we'll keep you informed.

Sorry to hear this guys-I've been enjoying your campaign!

THOMAS: Yes, we'll be placing a character image on the sheet.

LEON: Yep, you're right about that. We've actually done a tremendous amount of promotion (outreach, articles, appearances at conventions, updates, and more), but we're starting from "nobody knows us" so it's definitely a tough job! But we're still plugging away!

    10. Leon Powell on September 26, 2016

As good as this looks you need to do a lot more promotion if your even going to hit your base target

Question, for the deluxe character sheets will there be any sort of character image provided with the character sheets even if they are relatively small?

    12. Marc Tassin 3-time creator on September 23, 2016

RE: Technology/Era: Aetaltis incorporates elements both social and technological that, when compared to our own world's history, fall under a number of different locations and periods. In addition, there are isolated instances where a more advanced technology may exist, but has yet to be fully exploited. The overall feel of the setting, however, is traditional medieval fantasy.

I think Open D6 would be the easiest option, a generic book for Fantasy exists and is free to download.
I like Hero, but never actually tried their Fantasy rules, I'll look into it. DD/5th or other, indicate bonus in stregth, intelligence, skill bonuses, and special abilities, the last 2 being extremely easy to translate in other systems. Strength being so important in close combat, Intelligence for magic, and Wisdom for mystic powers might be less easy.
A possibly problematic thing would be the opposition : either human oid (thieves, necromancers) or monsters. Some generic ones (orcs, resilient and strong, goblins, hard to hit and sneaky, undead, resistant to specific weapons, and immune to some effects ...), may be the thing that will take the longest to translate, but each system already has the most common covered.
I somehow feel in the main picture with the 3 characters, a renaissance or age of discovery influence in the clothes, is there elements of post middle age? like early firearms or early modern architectural buildings using metal and bricks?

    16. Marc Tassin 3-time creator on September 23, 2016

Hi, Patrick: It should absolutely be possible to adapt to another system, especially one as flexible as OpenD6 or Savage Worlds. You probably saw in the race descriptions that we posted in the updates that we've worked very hard to provide the racial descriptions in a rich way. This combined with the 5E stats should provide a great template for making easy adaptations.

In addition, the fact that Aetaltis embraces so many of the elements of classic fantasy game worlds means that much of what you need to play an Aetaltis campaign in a different system exists in a way that will require at most a bit of tweaking.

The greatest challenge would be capturing the feel of the magic system. That said, the new rules are not so integral to the setting that removing them will break it. If you love the world and want to play it with a different system, that would work.

In fact - over the past 15 years or so we've playtested the world in a LOT of systems including Savage Worlds, FATE, GURPS, HERO, 3.5E, and more! We like the feel of 5E best, but they all work.

Is the rule part a big one, or is the background and world description the biggest part? I ask because I've never like AD&D, and 5th edition did especially wrong by thinning out the skill system used to do the investigation part, and will allow characters to be different, then the armor class system is still broken and illogical, keeping the "attacks of opportunity" and limiting it makes no sense (it was too "wargame" rule for me, but at least in the understanding of actions and their consequences, it was logical to have several situations : drinking a potion, casting a spell when in close contact ; now just a consequence of movement, leading to the aberration of doing any kind of movement, jimping, going in circles, as long as you're in the enemy's zone and not incurring Aoo.
Simply, is it possible to adapt to another game system, like OpenD6 or Savage Worlds?

I'm so freaking jealous of whoever got the Master/Mistress of Magic tier. If I had ever once in my life had $3,000, I would have been more than happy to offer it in pledge.

    19. Marc Tassin 3-time creator on September 20, 2016

They are actually a bit different, Jeffery. Today's update will provide a bit more detail about them.

    20. Jeffery Mace on September 19, 2016

The occupation looks like 5e's backgrounds with extra detail. Is this used in addition to backgrounds or in supplement to them?

DWAYNE: Good question. In fact I'm adding an FAQ item about this, because quite a few people have asked. Right now we're focusing on 5E, but if the Kickstarter does well, we are not opposed to expanding to support other systems.

ROB: This is wonderful to hear! I'm really glad to hear you're excited about it, and we look forward to incorporating your character!

    23. Rob Gruber on September 15, 2016

I host a ton of World of Greyhawk stuff at my store for both kids and adults, it seems to me that World of Aetaltis would seamlessly fit right in with that kind of "believable fantasy" am I correct?

I love the feel of what you are creating guys, you got me backing to have a Character involved, very good chance I will up my pledge to become even more involved as things progress. Will this also be made for those of us who have retail stores to carry? I know the kids and players at my shop would love the chance to see one of my NPCs in the print of Aetaltis.

Thanks for the great inclusion on Facebook as well. Love the updates and posts you guys make. Really excited for you and all who are involved.

      @Marc - 3rd Kickstarter and your turning into a rules lawyer ;)

    30. Marc Tassin 3-time creator on September 13, 2016

Hi, Nicholas! The Essence tokens are for the Glyph Magic system introduced in the Aetaltis rules. It's a point based magic system designed for arcane casters. We'll be doing a full post about it in the next day or so.

I wonder if it's possible to include the strechgoals in the core books pdf tier? The international shipping, fees and taxes that are involved in getting the physical copies are very high, so I usually buy the physical copies from the gamestore and only back the pdf level. But the core book pdf tier does not include the stretchgoals so far :(

Aye Marc the shipping cost does indeed look harsh, but i go for the books anyway.

Just wondering, a friend of mine from switzerland also just backed, would it be possible to make one big shippment to reduce shipping cost?

    50. Jeffery Mace on September 6, 2016

Pledged at the $235 level, my players are usually good for chipping in for stuff, and I think they'd like player's books. A little scared of the print add-on costs if wildly successful :)
