  1. q. Why did you decide to start building your own game?
  2. a. We started building our game as a learning experience for developing applications for multiple platforms while exposing a universe we want to launch within our first Series of digital comics.
  1. q. Can you tell us a little more about Noble Path?
  2. a. Yes, Noble Path is a top down hand drawn action RPG divided into 2 parts, one is a story mode and the other is a survival mode. The game focuses on Keiro and his development as a swordsmen and a hero in order to get his little sister back. His father is murdered in the beginning and the village sees Keiro's potential to be a great swordsmen like his dad, so they pressure him to train to fill the spot left behind by his father. And lastly his sister is captured by very powerful foreigners that want something Keiro and his sister have.

Survival Mode consist of different environments that encourages the use of careful planning and tactics in both movements and combos in order to advance or get a high score defeating the as many enemies as possible. In this mode you can fight countless waves of enemies competing over a leader board for the highest score.

  1. q. What are your influences for Noble path?
  2. a. Noble Path was inspired by the Buddhist Noble Eight-Fold Path. Its art was inspired by Kishimoto, Showmen Jump Mangas, Marvel & DC Comics, and the gameplay was inspired by Titles like Ninja Gaiden, and Zelda: Link to the Past. The choreography for the main character's combos derive loosely from my training in Kenjutsu and Iai-jutsu (The style of IAI is Muso Jeikiden Eishen Ryu).

q. What has drew you to the Ouya?

  1. a. The Ouya is an excellent chance for us to introduce this and future games to the console without the meticulous requirements that ps3, wii, and xbox360 have. Also we have a chance to possibly get a new form of entertainment to the big screen by our digital comics. With a stretch goal of $15,000 (We will no longer require this for Ouya Version) we will bring Noble Path to Ouya.

Zendoart was first introduced in early May 2012 by Harold L. Davis Jr. (CEO and Project Manager). With a vision and goal, the plan was to assemble a team that would give a new perspective on digital comics and RPG games. Once the dust settled, the team consisted of Jay Owen (composer, sound effects artist, and musician), Ermond Pree (lead story developer and script writer), and Luis Zebada (Lead artist and Comic Book Artist). After some struggles and hard work, the team implemented a strategic plan on creating Zendoart, and what it has become today.

Zendoart is a team that is passionate about incorporating unique concepts into non-complex experiences. The game is divided into eight sections that are derived from the Buddhist “The Noble Eight-fold Path”. We are trying to create a unique and thrilling story line which will allow players to reflect on their own interpretations as they follow along in the game. We really hope this game will inspire our audiences’ to view art and experience gameplay in a whole new way.

A Deeper Look At Noble Path (Commentary)


Noble Path is about a young boy named Keiro. After his father was murdered, the village wanted Keiro to take his talent as a young swordsman to fill the position his father left behind as the great village protector. Keiro's kid sister is kidnapped by three powerful foreigners invading the land with a mysterious army. Throughout the story, Keiro slowly figures out there is a more menacing, darker reason for his sister’s kidnapping and raiding of his land. In his journey he discovers four paths, four deities, which give him insight into a vast well of spiritual energy.

Programming The Game

To program Noble Path we are using Cocos2d-x to port to iOS and Droid devices and if we go beyond our goals, Ouya.

Throughout the game you unlock special combos. In order to perform these special combos, you have to press the buttons in a specific sequence. Make sure to follow our updates during the duration of this Kickstarter,We will be updating specifics on the interface layout,

  • Bryon, I really appreciate the feed back. To be very honest with you its an easier language for us to program on initially. And we can confidently say we will finish the game in objective-C vs C++ (droid), However its not impossible or far beyond our reach which is why with the right funding we can go for droid because the language is similar enough. But in a nutshell thats why. Also budget is low because we need help to get it done and honestly it does not take that much to make a visually stunning game with the bases we are building on. Because of our approach, The approach is to make a game using hand drawn frames and using basic scanning and instant alpha techniques in order to cut down on the need for graphic designers and graphic design software but also make it visually enjoyable. Also most of the tools we need are based off of physical supplies like a mac mini, server, mac pro, macbook, and cintiq, we have already finished the story there is no issue with paying anyone except a small bonus for our programmer and its nothing most of us are friends as well as teammates but anyway thanks for the question let me know if i can answer anything else. ^^
