DOES THIS LOOK FAMILIAR?
We've all experienced the frustrations that surround the hassle of taking our headphones out from our pockets, purses, or cluttered computer bags, only to be greeted by a tangled mess of wires. Kordl 2 is here to the rescue.
HOW IT WORKS:
The magic behind Kordl 2 is our Rubber Band vs. Spaghetti Theory. Imagine reaching into a bowl full of spaghetti and trying to pull out a single strand -- it's very difficult and the spaghetti strands often get tangled together. Now imagine reaching into a box full of rubber bands and pulling out a single band -- the rubber band is much easier because it's a continuous loop, unlike the spaghetti strand that's open-ended. We discovered that keeping your cords in a closed loop prevents tangles. Simple yet effective.
Answer calls faster with Kordl 2, which has the quickest cord deployment time out of any other cord management producton the market. Unlike its sluggish competitors that require you to wrap your cords after use and unwrap before use, Kordl 2 requires no wrapping or unwrapping. Just clip it, stuff it, pull it apart, and you're ready to go.
In the world of tech accessories where smaller is better, Kordl 2 is the smallest cord management product on the market. Yet it's big enough for those chubby fingers and so you won't lose it.
Thanks to our patent pending "twist-and-lock" mechanism, Kordl 2 attaches securely onto the base of your earbud cords right next to the plug.
Snake your cord through the locking channel, positioning the plug close to the edge of Kordl 2.
Squeeze your cord into the channel so your cord becomes completely straight, as shown below:
Here's a quick video to recap:
Once installed, Kordl 2 discreetly resides here by the plug for the life of your earbuds.
Once you've finished rocking out or chatting it up (for now), simply press your earbud cords into the grooves, like so:
Now you're ready to stash away your earbuds. No need to waste time wrapping them. Just ball them up and stuff them away like you always wanted to.
When you pull them back out, just grab Kordl with one hand and pull your earbuds apart with the other. Couldn't be easier. Watch John do it:
Kordl 2 is reusable, so when you get that next pair of earbuds just uninstall Kordl 2 and reinstall onto your new buds.
EVOLUTION OF KORDL:
After a soft launch of the original Kordl (above) in February 2013, we gained valuable feedback from customers and the media, including top-rated tech blogs and magazines. We listened, and although the original Kordl was very well liked, we made it even better. Here are some of the improvements of Kordl 2:
1. Fits More Cord Styles: Kordl 2 is compatible with round cords (all Apple earbuds including the new iPhone 5 EarPods, Samsung Galaxy S3, etc.), double barrel cords (Phillips), and flat cords (Samsung Galaxy S4).
2. Attaches More Securely: The biggest improvement of Kordl 2 is the addition of a third prong to our patent pending "twist-and-lock" mechanism, which gives Kordl 2 a more secure attachment to the plug wire. Go ahead and stuff it, ball it up, put it to the test. Kordl 2 can handle it.
3. More Intuitive: We added a second earbud channel so there's no question as to where your earbud cords snap in. Also gives you more surface area for stronger gripping without adding bulk.
4. Streamlined Design: Kordl 2 is sleek to prevent snagging. Whip out those buds with confidence!
5. Customizable: Now perfect for promotional gifts, Kordl 2 features ample real estate for custom logo embossing. Whether it's for your company, sports team, or just a cool design you can't live without, Kordl 2 offers a blank canvas for you to emboss any image you can imagine.

If you're interested in molding YOUR LOGO onto Kordl 2, let us know by sending us a message via Kickstarter. We can 3D model your logo onto an interchangeable mold insert, which will emboss your logo onto the back of the Kordl 2 during the injection molding process. This insert only needs to be paid for once, and is reusable for future production of your custom logo Kordl 2 parts.
PRECISION MADE, RIGHT HERE IN PHILADELPHIA:
We're happy to announce that Kordl 2 will be manufactured right here in Philadelphia by a local injection molder. It's no secret these days that consumer products are seldom manufactured in the U.S., and although Kordl 2 isn't going to singlehandedly change the landscape of U.S. manufacturing, we need to start somewhere.
We feel it's important for us to not only support the industry, but to also provide a superior product that will ultimately last you – our backers – much longer.

Risks and challenges
Behind the scenes of Kordl 2 is an accomplished Philadelphia-based design firm called J2 Product Development. The first J is for John Paulick, an award-winning industrial designer. John is the founder and designer of WineHive® Modular Wine Racks, which was successfully funded on Kickstarter in April 2012 and has quickly become an international sensation over this past year.
John oversees the entire manufacturing and distribution process of WineHive, along with the design, packaging, marketing, sales, and every other facet involved with starting, running, and growing a small business. John knows a thing or two about bringing a new product to market and growing it into a business after launch, and he plans to make Kordl 2 his next success story.
The second J is for Joe Berger, an experienced mechanical engineer also chock full of awards and accomplishments. Between John and Joe is a combined total of 10 patents (and counting), multiple licensing deals with manufacturers with distribution in big box retailers, including the Curtain Clasper, which just hit the shelves at Bed Bath & Beyond in May 2013.
Kordl 2 will be manufactured right here in Philadelphia, just a short drive from the office of J2. John and Joe know it's important to have a close feedback loop with manufacturers and suppliers, especially in the startup phase of a new product, and although they could have shaved a few cents off by outsourcing to China, they prefer to have Kordl 2 locally manufactured. Not only will it boost our local economy, but John and Joe will be able to quickly resolve any issues that may arise along the way.
Once manufactured, the Kordl 2 parts will be shipped to J2's fulfillment and distribution center, where they'll be packaged and shipped directly to customers. By keeping these things under one roof, J2 greatly reduces their carbon footprint and keeps a tight feedback loop to ensure Kordl 2 is made correctly and on time. John and Joe will be 100% transparent every step along the way, and will provide constant updates to backers to keep everyone in the loop. They invite anyone that has any questions, comments, or concerns to contact them directly via Kickstarter message, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
