WHY WE’RE MAKING THIS FILM:
We need to fall in love in nature. What we fall in love with, we protect. When we fall in love, we transform. Through loving and protecting nature, we can heal ourselves and ensure a future for our children. We know that this film can make a huge difference in our world!
WHAT THIS FILM IS ABOUT:
Love Thy Nature shows that a deeper connection with nature is the key to solving our environmental crisis. The by-product? It also makes us happier and more loving human beings.
The film weaves a rational exploration-- using experts' interviews and narration– into an emotional journey. It immerses us in an awe-inspiring, sensual and poetic experience, awakening our reverence for the natural world.
The severity of our environmental crisis is pushing us to step into a new era of human evolution, one in which we learn to align our bodies, minds and hearts with the wisdom of nature. And by remembering our interconnectedness with the natural world—either by hiking a mountain, connecting with an animal, or looking at the eyes of a newborn child—we embrace our own humanity, becoming more loving, peaceful, and joyful human beings.
Love Thy Nature demonstrates how communion with the natural world transforms us as individuals and communities. And that transformation encourages us to not only restore our ecosystems, but also to embrace our role as a species of double-wisdom: as stewards of our planet, including our human family.

WHERE WE ARE WITH THE PROJECT NOW:
We're thrilled to report that we're nearly done filming and we're embarking on post production. Our goal is to have our first rough cut by July 2013, and have the film completed by November 2013.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:
We're almost there!! We believe in this issue so much, we’ve invested all we can and now we are reaching out to you to help us take it to the finish line! It takes a village to make a film. Come be a part of this powerful and magnificent project!
WHAT WILL YOUR MONEY PAY FOR:
Shoot the climactic scene of the film (we're leaving the best for last) -- Editing -- Professional Narrator -- Music Composition -- Music Licensing -- Film Graphics
CAN WE EXCEED OUR GOAL?
Yes! The more money we raise, the more quickly we can finish the film and the faster we can share it with the world. If we exceed our financial goal we'll be able to bring on a celebrity narrator to carry the message further AND launch a community engagement program that will ensure the film reaches all corners of the globe.
WHAT WE OFFER YOU IN RETURN FOR YOUR PLEDGE:
You will be a part of this significant movement, aimed at inspiring people to love and protect nature. Through pledging and spreading the word around, you will join us by being a catalyst for change in our world today and for future generations.
PLUS, check out the grey column on the right where you'll find a bunch of JUICY REWARDS! So, enjoy nature-shopping! ;-)
WHAT IF WE DON’T REACH OUR GOAL:
If we don’t reach our goal, we don’t get any money. Donors make pledges, but don’t pay until our goal is fully reached and our funding deadline has passed. So please help us spread the word! Every little bit helps.
I'M REALLY INSPIRED AND IGNITED BY YOUR FILM. HOW ELSE CAN I BE INVOLVED?
Please help us spread the word about our Kickstarter campaign AND our film!

Once we’ve reached our funding goal we’ll send you a message through Kickstarter (to whichever email you gave Kickstarter) asking for all your necessary information.

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge we face is to raise enough funds not only to complete the film, but also for it to have the global outreach and impact that we envision. In today's filmmaking environment, there are more of us making films, but the money available in foundations' coffers have not increased at the same pace, if at all. In addition, the artistry of Love Thy Nature requires high production value, making it a more expensive film than most documentaries.
Our plans to deal with this funding challenge include building a large grass roots effort (which this campaign is a part of) and pursuing alliances with environmentally minded businesses to invite them as corporate sponsors. And as the film approaches completion, we plan to sell it to international broadcasters and distributors, providing us with the revenues we need to further advance our outreach effort.
The other challenge we face is to stay on schedule. We want to submit the movie to film festivals with deadlines in the fall of 2013. But with any creative project, it's very difficult to know how long it will take to accomplish each step (editing, narration, animation, color correction, sound effects, music composition, audio mixing and mastering). So, while we estimate it will take us about 10 to 12 months, we can't guarantee it. Naturally, our top priority is to do it right!
This leads us to another challenge, which is to send the rewards to our Kickstarter supporters at the time we have estimated. While we feel that those dates are realistic, any delay we might have completing the film will also delay the shipping of their (your) rewards.
But we're lucky to have a team of people who are talented, committed, and loyal. We will all do our best to get to the finish line by fall 2013, so that we can send our supporters (you!) their rewards in a timely manner and meet the deadlines for Sundance and Tribeca film festivals. Fingers crossed! ;-)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
