This is a follow up to the successful campaign run in July-August for Clear the Decks! This second campaign is for player playmats but also allows people who missed the original campaign to pre-order it. We were just short of another stretch goal, so this follow up creates the opportunity to add even more to the game for everyone.
Running the campaign for the playmats now means they can ship with the game and they can be offered with no additional shipping charges.
The Playmats will be described and then if you were not an original backer, just scroll down for a summary of the game from the original campaign.

The Playmat has been designed to be artistic yet functional. A great way to get players more immersed in the theme while at the same time remind players of options and rules.
Dimensions are approximately 9.75" wide x 7.75" tall, made of printed fabric over a flexible rubber mat. This allows easy handling of the cannons during play on any surface.

This campaign is also for those people who missed the original one. If you are not familiar with the game - please continue to read the game information below as well as reviews and quotes from industry insiders.
You can order the playmats alone if you backed the original campaign, or you can order just the game if you do not want the mats, or you can order it all together.
Example - you already ordered the game, but want 4 mats, then you pledge for $20 with no additional shipping charges. If you are a new backer and want the game and 4 mats, then you pledge $49 and there will be a shipping charge based on where you are in the world.
If you want additional games or mats, just message me and I'll give you a quote for what to pledge and figure out a shipping charge.

Base Campaign Funding Goal = $250. This means that the Player Game Mats will be printed and shipped free with the base Clear the Decks! game.
UNLOCKED $500 = 2 extra cards added to the game - a Hull/Leak combo to add more replay variation and increase difficulty, plus a felt bag for storing the game tokens. Increase box size to 10.5"x10.5" so that the game mats fit inside for easier transportation.
UNLOCKED $1000 = 3 Extra Cards added to the game. These join the other three cards and the blank template cards achieved in the first campaign.
Preview 1: Purser's Mate - He knows the supplies available in the hold and can give you an idea of what will be available in the player deck.
Preview 2: Lubber's Aim - Not enough training and the crew of your 24 pounder has missed the mark, wasting ammunition and a firing opportunity. Swab it out and get ready for the next turn.
Preview 3: Smashed Ladderway - It's not quite a ladder, it's not quite a stairway - but it is how you get between decks - until a round shot comes along and blows it away - looks like you might have to wait for more ammo.....
UNLOCKED! $1500 = Kickstarter Promo* Card: Fortune: Slush Fund. That's right - look it up - the phrase "Slush Fund" comes from the age of sail. As the name implies - this card will get the players a little something extra when they need it. This card will not be in the base game, it will be shipped in the same box (1 per game) during fulfillment.
UNLOCKED! $1750 = Kickstarter Promo* Card: Ammunition: Star Shot. This nasty spinning ball and bars is a versatile projectile that is used differently by different player cannons.
$2000 = Upgrade Player Cannon Cards to Tiles. The player cannons are the most used part of the game. Upgrading them to tiles will give them greater heft and make them sturdier for heavy use. (I tried to get sulfur and smoke scratch and sniff, but it wasn't available....)
$3000 = An avid follower requested a bit o' something shiny (did I mention he has piratical tendencies)- so if we hit this goal - I will include a promo* Clear the Decks! logo lapel pin (1 per game) in the shipment.
*Promo items are not included in the base game. They will be shipped with the game. Excess supply may be distributed by game publisher.

Clear the Decks! is a cooperative card game depicting ship-to-ship combat in the Age of Sail. Each player commands 3 Cannons and uses a combination of Ammunition, Officers, Marines and Tactics to attack the enemy ship. The game is inspired by the motion picture "Master and Commander" and the book series by Patrick O'Brian, Horatio Hornblower series by C.S. Forester and the series on BBC plus several non-fiction books and visits to the USS Constitution.

Enemy Ship Boards – 3 two-sided boards that are arranged to make a 2, 3 or 4 card stack ship for the 8 difficulty levels.

Player Cannon cards (12: 4 each 18, 24 and 36 pounder)

Player Cannon Targeting Tokens (12 Reversible) - Use these to help keep track of what guns you are firing, or which you cannot fire.
Enemy Counterattack Cannon Damage and Boarders Tokens (24 Reversible) – to keep track of the damage you take.
Enemy Inactive Cannon and Crew Tokens (4 Reversible)

Enemy Ship Cards (100) - These include the Cannon arrayed against you (Light, Medium, Heavy) Sections of the ship (Rigging, Hull, Mast, Sail), and the Crewmen on board (ex. Captain, Gunner’s Mate) as well as Events that can turn the tide of a battle for better or worse.

Player Cards (100) - These include your Ammunition, Tactics, Officers, and Marines - everything you need to launch a successful attack against the enemy ship - you hope!

Turn Actions Order / Enemy Attack Priority Cards (4) These help guide you through both what a player can do and what the enemy will target on their counterattack.
Home Rules Cards (3+) Based on their popularity during demonstrations and all the ideas people come up with we are adding in at least 3 template cards for backers to create their own cards.

Nine Difficulty Settings - The three two-sided Enemy Ship Boards can be placed to create 3 different ship sizes. The Rules provide set up guidelines for 8 different difficulty levels to allow new players to "learn the ropes" and expert players to have a real challenge.

The Players use combinations of their three Cannons with the three types of Ammunition to destroy the cards in the ship.

If Destroyed, the enemy ship card is removed. Any card on deck not destroyed can counterattack by damaging player cannons, adding more cards to the ship or even forcing players to lose resources.
Taking too much damage or fighting too may Boarders and your Cannon is Inactive or Destroyed. Lose all your Cannons and you must strike your colors.
However, cause enough damage to each section of the ship and you reveal a section of the Hull and then a Leak. Cause enough leaks and you sink the enemy ship. Huzzah!

Again - the Crispy Games Company team would like to thank everyone that has played and contributed to the game either with feedback or as a financial backer to the game in the original or this current campaign. Without your help the game would not become so great and would not be published. Thank you for helping me realize this dream.

Risks and challenges
Just like a frigate heading out to enemy waters, every campaign has its share of risks. Through careful research, planning and consultation with past successful KS campaigners I endeavor to pilot this venture to victory and a timely completion.
Once funded I will provide accurate and timely updates on the progress of the completion of this project.
