About this project

Event Horizon: Immolation is the first episode in a trilogy season of intense Sci-fi action and thrilling choice-based narrative.

Event Horizon: Immolation is developed by a team with lifetime aspirations of creating innovative gaming experiences. We've created a balanced blend of the action found in first person shooters and the narrative elements role play game. The class-based strategic elements of Immolation will introduce varying ways of play that will keep the player guessing. In addition to its pulse pounding action, Immolation's story will challenge your preconceptions and teach you that the power in a decision doesn't usually come from its morality, but from its result.

Immolation takes place on Avalon, the Earth Space Administration's newest and most distant colony. The planet is located in the Fringe, a desolate region of space, far from Administrative Earth and its allies in the Interstellar Coalition of Aliens. It is a beautiful, hospitable world, a symbol of what humanity has accomplished as one of the most prominent species in Coalition space.

Event Horizon is an evolving world. Incidents will occur, during your missions and while you're away, that require your attention. Dealing with these random events can increase the number of civilians you evacuate   and eat away at your enemy's assets.

The Amos Special Tasks Fleet is the exploratory and defensive arm of the Coalition. Although mostly human, Amos consists of the best soldiers and scientists the Coalition races have to offer. And you must lead them to victory over the Coalition's greatest enemies.

The Harvester Breed is the oldest and most technologically advanced species in the known galaxy. These genetically enhanced titans care little for other species, save for using them as a source of resources, experimental test subjects, and scrap technology. Now that they've set their sights on Avalon, there is little more to be done than to get out before the kill everyone and steal everything else.

Harvester Drones mercilessly serve their masters in the mindless slaughter of other species and the methodical gathering of their technology. Their masters are just as callous and unfeeling as they are.

Many different races inhabit our galaxy. Some nice, and some... not so much. Now's your chance to find out which is which, and remember; looks can be deceiving.

Event Horizon is a class-based first person shooter, so there are a variety of ways to play the game. You can play the ultimate soldier as a Ranger, or you can be the galaxy's most dangerous telepath, the Esper. You can combat your enemies with state of the art tech as an Operator, or you can out maneuver everyone as a Crusader. Each class has it's own unique properties, special weapons, and abilities so no matter which way you play, we guarantee a different combat experience.

Combat Classes
Combat Classes

The enemies of Event Horizon won't be locked down to specific behaviors. While you can expect a specific class of enemy to lead with their standard tactics, don't expect them to just try the same thing over and over again. Once you've thwarted their "go to" moves, you can expect them to mix it up a little and find a different way to kill you.

The choices in Event Horizon are far reaching and dynamic. Making incorrect assumptions in any given situation can really come back to bite you. You'll have to use your best judgement, and hope that you, and the good people of Avalon, can live with the consequences.

Spray N' Pray Studios is aptly named. We're tossing our best game out there for you to enjoy, and we hope you have as much fun playing it as we are making it. We're planning to release this winter, but rest assure that we won't release a game that doesn't look and feel ready.

Why support us? Well lets be frank, you're here to support your own desire for great story and gameplay experiences.  And we don't want to waste your time. Spray N' Pray is made up of over 30 young professionals from the metro Atlanta area, with no greater drive than to create spectacular new titles. Microsoft took notice of our efforts and decided to take us under their wing as a business start-up.

Risks and challenges

Our game is powered by the Unity 3D game engine, which is designed for ease of development. While easy to develop in, there are still many design challenges to overcome. Many of which, involve what you the players, want to experience.

1. We have devoted much of our time to weeding out any imperfections that may take away from your experience. If there's something in particular you want to see in our gameplay, let us know.

2. There are costs to making an independent game look and feel like a AAA title, but still maintaining the creative freedom to make the game unique and endearing. There is still a lot of hardware and software we need to make this game really shine.

3. Our team is rife with professionals who have to juggle Event Horizon: Immolation along with other projects. Your donations will allow us to commit our teammates to the project full-time.

4. You the players are our top priority(as it should be) so if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to send them our way.
