"Dogs and Bobcats" is a short documentary, produced by The Creature Show, about bobcat conservation in New Jersey. Your support will help us finish the film.
Why is there a dog?
Bear is a wildlife detection dog who is helping New Jersey biologists conduct a bobcat population study. (Bobcats are an endangered species in New Jersey.) The goal of the study is to create a baseline estimate of how many bobcats are left in the state.
What else is the story about?
Our story is about:
-Major threats to bobcats in New Jersey, including highways (they're hard to cross) and habitat fragmentation (bobcats prefer large spaces to roam.)
-An initiative called "Bobcat Alley," led by The Nature Conservancy's New Jersey Chapter, to connect bobcat habitat in Northwest Jersey.
-Ideas about how to help bobcats and other creatures cross highways more safely.
When will you be finished?
We hope to release "Dogs and Bobcats" by the end of 2017.
What is The Creature Show?

What if you raise more money than your goal?
If we raise more than our goal, we'll be excited to put the funding toward future episodes of The Creature Show, including an upcoming episode about Pine Barrens tree frogs.
A special thank you to the groups and people who have participated in or supported "Dogs and Bobcats" to date, including The Nature Conservancy of New Jersey, New Jersey Conservation Foundation, the New Jersey Division of Fish & Wildlife Endangered and Nongame Species Program, and Carla Lee Lewis and family.
Risks and challenges
Filmmaker Jared Flesher has completed three feature documentaries and numerous shorts, so he understands all aspects of what's required to bring a film project from start to finish. A risk for the project is that it may take longer to complete than expected.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
